Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 10 May 2021

Good Evening!

Saw something today that touched and blessed me. I was buying a Khmer Sandwich on the way to Noak and saw an old man eating a mango. He had a bagful of mangos next to him and was eating his mango with so much pleasure. He treasured every bit, scraped it down to the pit and when the pit fell in the dirt, he picked it up, wiped it off, and still tried to scrape some mango of it. He even licked the juice from his knife. It is mango season at the moment here in Cambodia. There are so many that the people don't even bother to pick up the ripe yellow ones, they prefer the green ones. And here is this old man, clearly so thankful for food to eat. It is as if he was starving and were blessed with a bag full of food. Truly thankful for his meal!

We watched "Peace Child" by Don Richardson last night with the boys.  What an encouragement. If you don't know the story please check it out. Anton shared afterward that he is amazed that there was a way, a link, in the culture of this Papa New Guinea tribe so that when the missionary shared the story of Christ they could understand and embrace it. We then talked about the book "Eternity in their hearts" also from Don Richardson.  Old classics that once again inspire us! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMgGB0RPd2M&t=33s

We've been having some rain and strong wind this past week. Noak's little "palace" needed some fixing. We cannot build a proper structure because it is just next to the road and not allowed, so I and Anton went Saturday morning to make her roof sturdier and threw a tarp over it. She challenged me a bit this week, her mattress and bedding were wet from the rain and she did not bother to hang it out to dry. I felt discouraged that she just did not care.  Realized again how much healing and transformation still needed in her life. We ask your prayer as she is very confused at the moment. She wants my friend, who helps with her wound care to marry her. We really need Khmer women to build a relationship with her and help care for her as it is not good that it is just us men. Please pray with us for this.

The travel ban in Cambodia has been lifted but they still don't allow gatherings, so I still cannot go on outreach to the province. People in the province don't want visitors from the city now as the number of Covid cases increased. Doing a lot of woodwork and reaching out to others going through tough times over coffee or going for a short motorbike ride near the lake. Not much to do with Mother’s day but we took the dogs and bought some snacks and sat under a tree next to the lake and just enjoy nature for a while.

Please pray for our dear friend, Julie Passon, who is waiting for the biopsy results. She had breast cancer and now has problems in her throat.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our adventure over here. Please let us know how you are doing as well.

Love

Rossouws
