Happy Easter to you all.
What a wonderful weekend we had. Mordegai was in the
jungle, Toinette shared at River of Life, and Anton served in his church in
Malaysia. All to the glory of God. Love it.
April is here and that means that we are so close to
the sun as possible. Reminding me of the South where I grow up. Hot as hell. We
were on the bikes and we went to serve the people in the jungle with meds and
the Gospel of love. Poor Curtis had bad flu and he was suffering a bit but that
makes for a more memorable time. Lots of people are busy harvesting cashew nuts
and that means you can stop just there under the trees and give medicines.
Praise God that the chief of the one village is doing
better. He had really bad diabetes but that was fed by an infection in his toe.
They amputated his toe and he is so much better. His diabetes count is normal
and his wound is doing great. We had a wonderful time on the road as we had to
stop so many times.
In Rum Jopon there was a crowd waiting for us and when
we finished giving meds there were another surprise. One husband decided to
give his heart to the Lord and he wanted to get baptized. We went with him to
his land and was amazed at the jungle. It was such a glorious occasion to
baptize him in such a surreal place and this on Easter. Our efforts were
rewarded so many times over. No heat or suffering illness can stand over
something like this. We knew why we had to come out here.
Sunday morning was special with a communion on Easter.
This is the church’s first Easter and you could see the seriousness on everyone’s
faces. These few believers are serious with the Lord and that makes for so much
joy. Continue to pray for these guys as they face many challenges in life and
living and making a living in the jungle is no joke.
Please pray for Pheakeday’s parents in Som Poom. His
dad is not doing well and he is so skinny and coughing like crazy. I gave him
what I had and can only pray that he will be better. The Anti always is so
happy for pain reliever to put on her sore joints. They are such sweet people
and so hospitable. We can learn so much form these poor people on how to share
the little you have with love. Being out here with the people is where the true
Khmer people comes in play. I believe that they are soft hearted and generous
people.
It is such a shame that circumstances in the world
makes us all so cynical and negative. It is good for us to get out of our
comfort zones and see how other people cope with life, no aircon, no money, nor
knowing where the next meal will come from and then we complain when we sit in
our aircon houses eating good food. Like we say I Afrikaans:”” You complain
with a white bread under your arm.”” When I was young, white bread was only for
the rich, so you can see where it comes from. Let us be more positive and have
more compassion.
Love to you all
