Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it have to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work ,where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Toinette is at home with the boys. Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish with Hope school this year and start online classes .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 13 September 2021

Good evening everyone,

Yesterday morning I went with Mordegai to Noak. She and Mordegai have a little ritual going. First, she has to remove all the "reinforcements" (tree branches, pieces of metal) that she puts in the entrance of her little Garbage House. After pushing some of the plastic bags, filled with old food etc etc, a bit to the side, she pulls out her 'clean' bed sheet for them to sit on. Then they have "coffee" first. She has a bag of coffee candies hidden somewhere and every morning they each get a candy, finish eating it before he starts to clean her wound. I was so touched seeing this. Her hospitality and how much love is shared over that coffee candy. It reminded me of one time, many many years ago in the slums in Davao City. A single mom with 6 children invited us for a meal. She lived in the worst part of the slum on the low tide dirty water. Her bamboo house was about 2m x 2m big and on high bamboo stilts. When the 3 of us sat down, the room was full. Then she said, "Come let's go to my kitchen".  I and Mordegai looked at each other, thinking we heard something wrong. She lifted up a small towel and under it was a small desk drawer. In that drawer, there were maybe 2-3 plates, 3 cups, and a few pieces of cutlery. She served us lunch that day with so much love and we felt like we were dining with the king.

My dad always said, "Rather make me a sandwich with love than a 3-course meal with no love".

Siem Reap is under lockdown again. Roads are closed off into town and we need to stay home. Just turning our eyes to Jesus, to help us stay focused and not get discouraged. The boys need to help dad with the woodwork in the afternoons. Parents need to be creative to get them away from the computers. After cutting out some wheels, Anton said, “I actually enjoy this!".

We read a story with some of our online classes last week about crickets that had to work together to defeat an eagle. The students had fun dressing up as the characters. They are very creative and it helps to make the online classes a bit more interesting.

Thank you for praying with us. We are so privileged to have so many people praying for us. I always tell my boys that they are blessed to have people around the world to pray for them.

Love

Rossouw-clan
