Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 9 Aug 2021

Good Evening

So many times we pray that God would bless someone. What does this mean exactly? Read something this week that made me think a bit when I prayed for God's blessing. In Genesis 17:18 "Abraham said to God, 'May Ismael live under your special blessing'.  In the Hebrew translation "blessing" is a series of words that mean  "that Ismael might live before God". That Ismael would experience God as he faced the Almighty.  Wow, let's keep it in mind when we pray or sai "God bless you"next time.

The River of Life Fellowship at our center in the village had an online prayer meeting and even an online service this week. Thankful for the members who had internet access and could join. Please pray for the members.  Please pray for Bong Sang. She was a faithful member but now not joining anymore due to pressure from her family ( she is turning blind and the family say they will not look after her if she stays a Christian and is disappointed because God has not healed her.  16 Children joined the Mighty Kids online activity this Sunday morning. Pray for the FGC team preparing and conducting the lessons.

The online English classes are going well. Internet connection in the village is poor but between telegram and messenger, the teachers and students are able to connect. We ask your prayer for one of our students. Her name is SreyMa. She comes from a very poor family. Before lockdown, she used to come faithfully to the Kouk Resaycenter for classes. She is always dressed in very old clothes and is a serious little girl. It took a long time before she started smiling in class. The Khmer teacher told me during home visitation all the adults were drunk at her house and now during online class, you can hear them making noise in the background, using bad language. But little SreyMa really wants to learn. Please pray for her and her family. I encouraged our fellow teachers and reminded them that our kind words to her might be the only kind words she hears most of the time. I will not put a picture for child protection purposes.

The boys finished their Welding workshop with Men of Dignity ! So proud of them. During the next holiday, we will enroll them for "Plumbing".  Plumbing is kind of a sore subject here in Cambodia, there are no two pipes alike and no standard sizes so a small fixing job can become quite frustrating for my husband😆

Thank you so much for praying for my brother Jean. He is doing much better under circumstances. Some news from him. Some feedback for today.

They are in desperate need for ICU beds and the doctor discussed with me the progress to date. They have in the last week brought my supplied oxygen down from 95% to 60% today. That shows good recovery on the lungs so far. It means that I can more easily do little tasks like sitting up or rolling from side to side without long recovery periods. They decided to move me to the high care ward where the same treatment will continue, but the benefits for me I think is in the environment. Although I got now quite “attached” to the known crowd in ICU, and its like a safe bubble, the high care ward is much more relaxed without the intubated patients that were all around me in ICU. So although quite worried at the move, I got settled into the high care ward and even have a window where I can see some trees. All in all a good option. So its good news, the lungs seem to be cooperating and recovery plan on track. Thank you all for your love and support, its unbelievable to experience it from my side. Love to you all!

So let’s keep praying for each other in these very difficult times. May you hold onto God’s promises and seek Him daily.

Love

Rossouw-clan
