Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 24 May 2021

Good Evening!

We've had a few very very hot days and a little drizzle this morning, so we're all breathing again. Usually, we fear the month of April every year but it seems May has had a bunch of very hot days. Apo's dad came by the other day to fetch more wound cleaning materials for Apo's big bed sores and shared that his rice crop died due to the heat. I go there every now and then but Apo's mom is doing a good job cleaning the wounds every day.  We give them odd jobs here and there to help. It is such a blessing to see how he and his wife work together. She always comes with him and helps him so much. And of course, she has the most beautiful smile, this mom who lost her one son already and her other son is paralyzed.

The students are dropping out of the online class, saying they are busy.  We are concerned because this happened last year as well with the long lockdowns. Students lose motivation to study. We pray we will be able to do home visitation and catch up with them.

Daily visits to Noak are never boring. She collects mango's and are waiting for me with a bag full almost every day. She is not willing to part with even one of her plastic bags though! Her wound looks a bit better. Thank you so much for your faithful prayer for her.

Anton is nearing the end of his school year. Most teachers are returning to their home countries as well as some of the families. The big goodbye is not easy for him. Always having to say goodbye is part of life on the mission field. This is hard on the children.

I am getting quite a bit of orders for my wooden toys and it keeps me busy in the afternoons. Got the boys to help me fogging for mosquitoes ate Noah’s place and then we went to Srey Mum’s place(our faithful helper) When people saw what we are doing they want to fog their places as well. We will go back and kill more mozzies, for sure.

Some news from our friend Julie Passon: Julie is an incredible mom of two kids and 100 animals on her rescue ranch (Nuzzle a Muzzle Ranch). She is a breast cancer survivor (2013) and is now (EDIT here!) recovering from a rough tonsillectomy, with negative pathology for cancer! This is awesome news!  Please continue to pray for her.

Update on Judie Johnson

This update is titled “To God be the Glory” which includes lots of thanks and gratefulness.

We so appreciate ALL of you: for your prayers, cards and financial gifts. We are back home from a ten-week bathroom remodel. During the time away we spent a lot time together praying and watching God work amazingly in the provision of the bathroom. We especially thank those who pitched in time and materials and money to get it done. If turned out not to be a basic remodel but a beautiful shower and bathroom. The showerhead is like a spring rain that also has a wand that can be used separately. We have a shower chair if Judy needs it to sit and finish her shower. Included are safety bars to help keep her steady.

Many of you know that our pickup was stolen the first part of January. The police found it a month later in a Walmart parking lot. It had a lot of damage. The front windshield was broken, door handles and ignition were broken with much more damage than we had the time or money to repair. So, we sold it as scrap metal. We also had a GMC Terrain that needed some work. It was operative and we sold it to CarMax for a reasonable price. Judy talked to her sister and found out they might be selling their Nissan Pathfinder. She called back and we settled on a good price. It is a 4-wheel drive with a third seat for all the grandkids. The blessings didn’t stop there.

A couple of weeks later Elisabeth and a friend from church, Mary, contacted Chariot of Hope to explain our situation. We had been missionaries in the Philippines and started and led a food outreach at our church outreach program for 17 years. On Thursday we were surprised with a 2006 Toyota Sienna Van. FREE – No strings attached. Glory to God.

Judy now has a different chemotherapy drug. After second dose she have been very fatigued. I also have a lot of nausea and back pain. However her rashes are better due to the new shower. We were even able to go for an hour motorcycle ride too

Thank you so much to everyone who reads these updates, prays for us, and continues to support us. As people share this, we have reconnected with so many people. Old friends and family from places we have been throughout the years. God Bless you and “To God be the Glory”. We are so blessed! We are believing in a miracle for Judy’s healing of cancer.

Thank you, Scott and Judy,

Thank you for praying with us for some friends. May your days also been filled with love to all.

Love

Rossouw-clan
