Good evening dear friends and family,
Had a real crazy Monday this morning. Difficult to get back to the books for the boys. The car is broken. Motorbike didn't wanna start, Twans had to tow me with her small bike. Several attempts and nobody wanted to help. So stress levels were starting to build up. Then on the way to Noak, a small delivery truck cut right in front of me and I crashed. The truck just took off. Thankful that I didn't get hurt seriously, a broken EGO, just cuts, and bruises, and a reminder from God to calm down. After a cup of coffee at a nearby shop, both old Big Red and I were calm down and we took the streets again. He even did well because I never had a problem starting him again, hahaha. When it comes to falling down, I am a pro in doing it, by God’s grace.
We've been having a bit of rain the last few days. For us as Namibians, whenever there is rain, we are so thankful and it lifts our spirits. We celebrated the true Namibian way by having BBQ in the rain! We have full-on lockdown over here, so went out to buy emergency stock: Sardines, Rice, and Instant Noodles!
With lockdown, we were worried that I won't be able to reach Noak to do her wound every day. Praise the Lord that I could found a way to still reach her. Sitting down with Noak is such a blessing every morning. It just puts things into perspective. The other morning she wanted me to wait because she's been saving a mango for me. She has so many little plastic bags with things inside, tied all over her "palace" that it took quite a while for her to find the bag that had the mango. Blessed me so much. On Khmer New Year she took some leaves and tied them around her head and laid on the ground listening to the music from the security guard nearby. Her wound is doing better, it is starting to grow a bit more closed. Noak is also changing, before we had to ask her to take a bath, now she takes a bath every morning without us asking. Step by step. Please continue to pray for her, for salvation and healing.
Please pray for Mordecai's passport. It is at immigration and cannot get it due to lockdown. Please pray that it would be released in time.
Pray for Cambodia as the Covid cases are piling up and they use now all the wedding places and old hotels for treatment centers. People are still reluctant to obey the rules but the government is not taking nonsense with anyone who disobeys. Locals go the jail and foreigners get to be deported. Lots of markets are closed and it is getting harder for people to get food due to an increase in praises, which the government tries to keep shop owners accountable for it, they can lose their license of the shop and face hefty fines, not that they listen.
Want to end off our letter tonight with a quote out of Michael Card's book on "Lament".
"God's appearance at the end of the book of Job is what sets it apart. His 'showing up is what the story is ultimately about. While much of the book concerns itself with the faithfulness of Job, who holds on; in the end, the book is more a celebration of the faithfulness of God, who 'shows up. By the conclusion of Elihu's final speech, you sense that you've reached the end of human wisdom and if anything luminous is going to be said; it will have to be said by God.
Love to all of you
