Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 10 June 2024

Good evening all you beautiful people

Another week gone, cannot believe time is flying by so quickly. Soon Anton will not be with us anymore and just the thought makes us wanna run away. He is pretty busy with some drawings he need to draw for a friend who is writing a devotional book. All the pictures are based off the movie, Lord of the Rings and it fits him like a glove. Every day he sits and draws or tries to organize his life before going to University. All around the world, you need to apply for university already a year in advance but here in Asia they just open the application dates, a month or so before the due date. We are still waiting to apply as they only do the June intake now. We are aiming for the November intake.

Recently I made some wooden lorries and trucks and asked Abraham to give it to the children in the village where he is busy working. He said that they put the toys on the table for all to see and told the girls that only the boys could get one as girls do not play with trucks. Nope, they were protesting that they also wanted a toy. So everyone got a truck and even some got taken home for children. It is such a blessing to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they finally get a toy. This is a blessing as they do not have extra money to buy something or if they buy it is only the rubbish plastic Chinese toys that last about 2 days. Now they have a real wooden truck that can outlast an apocalypse. I am busy now with 4x4 jeeps for our next outreach. Hopefully, this little project I call, Captain G’s Toys, will reach lots of children in different provinces and create lots of smiles.

I find that this helps me to deal with my depression and anxiety after Gideon. I always thought that depression was just a make-believe thing, but my goodness was I wrong. In between outreaches, making wooden toys for children soothes my soul and makes life livable. Toinette is enjoying working with the kids in the village and that gives her much joy. God knows how to give us time and the healing we need. Pray for Toinette and me as we still cannot get over the events. Yes, I know it’s a long time now but it is just like that, cannot explain it to you but pray for us. I think it will be a welcome break for Anton as well as he does not like to see us this way.

Please pray for Ouma Paula. Her one leg really hurts badly and it makes walking impossible. Pray that the doctor can see what is wrong and give some relief.

Thank you for even reading this letter. Sorry for all the sorrow-balls and pity-party. Thank you for praying for us.

Love

Rossouw-clan
