Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 29 April 2024

Good evening all the lovely people

Joshua and I did the impossible and made the trek into the jungle at the hottest time of the year. I can say that after 3 flat tires, a rebuild of the carburetor, 2 very hot drivers, and my bike that spit and groaned near the town again, we did quite well. I think the bikes were hot as well hahaha.

Everyone in the jungle is hiding from the sun and you find all the people under their houses in hammocks. The harvest is done and now they burn the fields and wait for the rain. Of course, we were scolded because we took so long to come. We took another road than before and stopped at some new places. Clusters of people live on scorched land that looks like hell itself. (I can just imagine that it will look like this) I cannot imagine myself living in these areas and making a living. What are they living off, where do they get food and water and so many questions in my mind?? Just to show that the people race is such an adaptable race. I cannot imagine myself staying there.

Pheakdey’s parents cannot search for gold now due to no water, so they are hammering it away in the mountain looking for crystals. They go down 4 meters and get some stones. Of course, they need to move big rocks and work in the hot sun, all day long. But this is just to show that people are resilient and look for ways to make a living. I just love this family; they are near to my heart. Always open with their hospitality and never a moment of despair, always happy with life. When I am down and out, I think of these guys hacking a way of life in the jungle and still enjoying good company.

I was reading this beautiful verse this morning. Wish I said it so nicely in English as well. The Afrikaans version is just beautiful. Never mind we will speak Afrikaans one day in heaven……

“Don’t be afraid. Dear Zion, don’t despair. Your God is present among you, a strong Warrior there to save you. Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love and delight you with his songs.” Zephaniah 3:17

'want die Here is by hulle. ' Sefanja 3:17

Can you imagine that the Lord will sing over us? I want to do this to the people in the jungle when I see them in their need. There are many more needed areas than the one we are working in but the Lord does not choose who is better than the other, He delights in all of us. No favorites and “voortrekkertjies” nie. (sorry cannot translate that one) even if you do not want to believe it but God loves us all.

Please pray:

My school friend is still in ICU and critical condition after his operation. Please pray that he will wake up from his induced coma. It is becoming now critical.

Anton is studying hard for his final exam, please pray for him as he prepares for this.

We are praying for the rain to come, some places already got some but here we are still dry. Remember the daily wait for rain down in the South? The clouds are packing every day and you can see that the farmers are looking at the sky. Once a farmer, always a farmer.

Love you all and may our Father delight in you with songs this week.
