Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 14 March 2022

Good evening everyone

Sweating is such a part of our daily life that I wonder what we will do when it’s not hot and sweaty. The other night in the jungle, it was nice and hot. Curtis and I were lying on a bed and I had a small little fan on us. Man, that thing was a live saver right there and then. At least we could fall asleep later on. Note to self, charge the little fan and leave it in your outreach bag.

I met up with my good friend Menuse for lunch in Kampong Tmau at our fav little Chinese restaurant. After a great meal of the best beef soup and fried rice, we were filled up and ready to go. I went ahead and made it to Heang where Curtis and his gang were waiting for me. In the meantime, Menuse’s bike gave him problems and lucky for him, he turned back to Phnom Pehn. Turn out to be the best decision ever made.

It was the first time in a year we could go into the jungle again. So much happened at that time. The people were so happy to see us and asked questions about Gideon. It made this trip such a hard one for me, I longed for Gideon so much. Well, there were a lot of people in the jungle. So much more than before. In Rum Jopon, our normal lunch stop, there were only a few families around but now more than 30 families are living in the jungle. In this lockdown, so many people moved back into the jungle and made a living for themselves. Sad to say that the jungle is getting smaller and smaller as they dig holes for gold and on top of that burn the jungle to plant Cashew trees. The change in a year is very noticeable and sad.

Curtis and his boys from Water of Life were so much fun to be with. They had Audio Bibles, toothbrushes and of course some sweets for the children. I recently got some boxes with medical stuff donated from Australia and in that were some Blood pressure monitors. They came in as handy as people did not have the means to buy their drugs regularly and their blood pressures were high. We could help them and they were happy. People in the countryside are generally healthier than people in the city, must be all the fresh air. We rest the night at our good friend Pheakaday’s house and could catch up with good friends. We were tired when we reached Tom Rieng again but we were happy that we came and help the people. We are looking forward to our next trip.

Noah is getting weaker by the day. But these people’s resilience and willpower are far above our Western thinking. She is laying in her little house and I literally need to crawl in there in the mornings, almost like a rat. Continue to pray for her.

Thanks for the prayer for our friend, Ovaltine. He is currently at home and according to Argie is doing a bit better. Pray for him as he is very sick.

Pray for FGC Community Link, Toinette is working for them. They need to renew their MOU with the government and now there are so many more new requirements and paperwork to be done. Pray for wisdom for Angela and her team.

Continue to pray for Toinette and Anton's visas. No word yet so I guess it will be done. No news is good news like they say.

Ok, this is a mouthful. Thank you very much for keeping us in your prayers and may the Lord help each and every one of you in this time.

Love

Rossouw-clan
