Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 17 Feb.2020

We find ourselves in the news again. This time some good has come from this. Most of you properly watch the news and saw that a big cruise ship docked in Sihanoukville after been denied entry into several ports around Asia. I personally think it’s a good idea to get the people from the boat as we see that the poor people on the boat in Japan is not doing well. Although 1 person got tested positive and the rest not, it is good for Cambodia to show their resilience in times of difficulties. Now I most properly will step on some toes but it's ok, being here a long time makes me jump for joy if something positive is happening. Here we struggle daily with all sorts of viruses so one more is been treated the same as the other. It seems that the people in the cities are freaking out and the poor people in the province just go their normal daily tasks. Media is making it so hard to believe anything you read that the best is to play this thing out to see what will happen. Now once again I that is entirely my point of view.

If we look at the world we can see that we are living in the end times but that was being said even when I was born, and that is a long time ago, hahaha. So let us rather take our time and make sure about our relationship with the Lord and do our best to proclaim His wonderful word and love to others that do not know Him. We get so distracted by all this bad news that we live in fear for tomorrow and Jesus told us to not worry about the day of tomorrow. I urge all of you to work harder to further His Kingdom, wherever you are.

Taking to a fellow missionary and friend Abraham Warrens, he was telling me about his work with the local church here near Siem Reap. The church is young and need lots of training in certain areas. When it comes to counselling and talking things through, it takes time and a quick prayer will not solve it. Here is Abraham in his own words.
The  young Cambodian church has suffered a bit throughout her growth over the last few years. She often can be described as being with zeal but little knowledge. Yesterday I was invited to a local church and afterwards asked to pray during a fire service for this lady (in pajama style clothing), a witch- doctor who practised magic, foretelling and sorcery. She brought some of her witchcraft material to be burned. Not having personally counseled the lady I noticed the continues shaking in her body. The local church then gathered around her and continue prayed for her. I still noticed some severe bondage and then came to conclusion essential counselling is lacking here. Explaining afterwards to the  missionary in charge they were  able to invite me for help as they lack knowledge in areas of counselling in bondage and deliverance. Highly  appreciate your prayers as we  start with a process  of equipping but also helping this witch- doctor in the days coming.
I was able to visit the fortune-teller this morning with local Khmer workers and their  missionaries. What an intense time spent with her. Through this visit 3 things took place. I was able to learn  more about the deeper side of Khmer fortune-telling, black magic, spells and curses from the "horse's mouth," those who accompanying me were  able to observe and learn and most importantly the   soothsayer is getting helped. It was an eye- opener and shocking to the missionaries on how little  they know and shallow their ministry has been up to now and requested  personally training and further  assistance. Also on Monday we will continue with future helping the lady. Appreciate your prayers so much .

Pray for the following people:
Curtis and Brea Johnson. She is scheduled tomorrow on the 18th for a C-section as baby is already over due and not in a good position. Pray for the safety of mum and baby and for a good operation.
Mordegai’s mum, Matra is in the hospital again with Lung infection. She is doing much better but still have these cough spells and that makes her not feel good. Pray for her healing soon.
The Warren family is leaving tomorrow on a bus to Bangkok and then onto South Africa. Chantel will attend a conference on Special needs that was sponsored to her. Pray for their safe journey and a great time back home.
Our dear friends Ben and Hannah and small Levi is also leaving Cambodia in less than 2 weeks and need to pack up for the big move. Emotions in times like this can be hard after a good few years and we pray that this time will be smooth for them. Not good seeing my friends leave but that is life.

Continue to pray for the missionaries serving here in Cambodia. Pray for the local church to stand up and work hard proclaiming the Gospel. Pray for favor with the local authorities as they can get tough on certain issue relating religion.
We love hearing from you. Thank you for praying for us so often. Once again I say that we cannot go without it.
Love
Rossouw-clan
