Sitting next to a child and I could smell her sickness
is not a good thing. She just looked ill and miserable, as she had an ear
infection and nose infection that literally stinks…How can we not but help her
to get on track again? I was with Samai deep into Ratanakiri down the Sesan River,
helping a Laos/Bro tribal church. Samai started working there when there was
not even a road to go inside and made some friends with the people that he love
so much. Today there is a good road and lots of farmers around. The people are
sooo small in stature but they are sooo friendly. Working here in the remote
areas of Cambodia makes me feel myself.
We visited my favorite Leprosy anti and it was good to
have Samai there that could translate for me as she is a Kring tribal anti. She
said that her children already made a hole for her so she can just get into it
as she has so much pain that she cannot stand it. Because of the cold in the
nights, it is really cold, she sat so close to the fire that she burned her
good leg and she fell down and hurt her hand, what is left of it. Not doing well
but she had some time to laugh a bit as I cleaned her wounds. Such a sad sake
of affairs. You can just wonder why Health people do not care about someone
like that and rather look the other way. She had been advised to go to Phnom
Pehn but tribal people do not move around and they just left her there in the
Cashew nut plantation. My prayer is that the Lord needs to come and take her
away. Samai will come and visit her more often as he is in Ratanakiri on a
regular basis.
Please pray with us for my outreaches into the remote
areas of Kampong Tom. The Department of Health came to my friends Rithy and
John and asked about our work. It’s all good but we just need to go and
communicate better with each other. I am aware of some of their programs and as
long as I follow the rules, I would be ok. Please pray for a meeting with the Head
of the Department and an open door to communicate with them in a good way. We
are not here to make trouble and want to work in harmony with the local government.
As Christians, we need to be an example to them.
Seeing in the news today that the people are now
fearful again for the Coronavirus as the people that left for China are
returning to Cambodia. All around us, flights are getting delayed but Cambodia
is not turning anybody away that wants to come and visit. So we are not sure how
many people already have the virus, which can be many but we believe that God
is our healer and protector. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50689046/coronavirus-outbreak-in-singapore-causes-panic-buying-lessons-for-cambodia?fbclid=IwAR0OL36IvcND8ArWadhakezWZfzq9G1qOVOq6JHla-Eh3zgzzarRxeWuv-M
I hear from my brother that Annerina’s Chemo is
finished and she just needs to take some medications. She is suffering a bit
from the after-effects but she is in good spirits. His business is effected big
time as he only works with Chinese pilots and some of them cannot return to China
or cannot come out.
Pray with us for the Chinese people. We are making
jokes about them all the time but we can pray for them as this virus really
affects their normal daily life. With a government that keeps a tight lid on
everything, it cannot be easy to be in their shoes at this time.
Please pray for our dear missionary friends Curtis and
Brea. Her due date is the 12th and Toinette needs to go down to help
her. Pray for safety for the baby as well as mum.
It is now almost 3 weeks and we did not hear anything
about our New Zealand visas. I am not so sure we will be able to go as this
virus is affecting everything and everyone. I need to know soon as I need to
apply for my local visa again.
Please keep the South of Namibia in your prayers as
they still need plenty of rain. The drought is really bad and animals are still
dying because of no food. Some areas received some real good rain but the dams
still need lots of water.
We thank you again for your continued prayers. Please
keep in contact so we can know what is happening on your side of the woods.
Love
Rossouw-clan.
