It seems to me we are always talking about the weather.
Truly Namibian, I guess?? The cold was here and it's gone again, some hot
weather is creeping in and we can work already on a good sweat during the day.
On the other side of the globe, we see that Namibia is getting rain but we pray
that it will rain more and that all the dams will fill up and that grass will
start to grow, for the poor animals that are starving. Here in Cambodia, people
are harvesting and try to put a last crop of rice before the dry season will
be in full force. Sad that they drain the water out of the reservoirs and later
there is none left and everyone is blaming the weather. I guess if you blame
Global Warming, everything goes……
Yesterday we attended the big Christmas party for the
small ones at Kouk Rosey. It was a joyous occasion with all the children
participating. It was sad to see that about half of the children that came, did
not know about Christmas. Chantel explained to us the real meaning of
Christmas. It was really an eye-opener to see children that know nothing about
this Christian activity, been so happy to participate. We pray that the seed
that is been planted will get water and grow in their hearts.
Our helper, Srey Mum, told us that her husband does
not allow her to come to the Christmas party cause they pray to God. She is
sending her little daughter and that way she can hear about Christ. Pray for
many families with the same problems. They will send their children but are not
allowed to come themselves.
Please pray with us for the work of FGC Community
Link in Kouk Rosey. Recently we lost a lot of students due to more serious
extra classes the students need to attend at school. It is just a real pain as
the teacher taking advantage of the children by asking them to come to extra
classes in order to get money from them. If they do not attend the classes they
do not have any chance of getting good grades in the exams.
Please pray for us, Lida-Marie and me, we are
traveling to Kampong Tom tomorrow to go and do outreach. This will be the last
one for this year. Pray for safe travels as well as we need to take bikes into
the jungle. Lida-Marie, Toinette’s niece is visiting from Namibia and she is
still here for 3 weeks. We really enjoy time with family here at home.
If we do not meet again, we would love to bless you
with a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for always praying for
us and always taking the time to read these letters. You guys are the glue that
keeps us going.
Love
Rossouw-clan
