Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 26 August 2019

Teenagers are funny creatures made by the Lord to keep us soooooo humble and teach us soooo much patience but on the other hand you get them when they are good and times are golden. I can hear Anton singing it away in the kitchen as I asked him to make some dinner, as Toinette is out and I need to write this letter to you. God definitely have a good sense of humour……. I am sure we will eat well as he loves making food.

Went out with Tree this morning visiting our Leprosy friend. He is in the military and they are giving him some money to keep alive. We asked him if he want to go to Phnom Pehn and hear what they can do for him and he said he would love to go. He just needs to ask his leader’s permission and we hope then we can bring him. He lost his wife, has 7 children, 6 of them in orphanages and only 1 with him. You cannot call his house a house as its more like a shack. We will look into it a bit later to fix up his little house for him. The rain is bad and he only has a tarp over for a roof.  So we just wait for him to come back to us. Things like this can take time so we just wait.

I will be going to the jungle again on Wednesday. This time I have the unpleasant task to go into another village to confront a guy that stole my wood. It’s a lot of wood and it cost a lot so I cannot let it go. We know the man that stole it and the chief also know him. Pray for a solution without getting to intense. People know we are Christians and they test us pretty good. Pray that we will be testimonies of His Kingdom.

A bit of sad news this week:
My uncle George passed away quietly last week. Please pray for my nieces and their families as we all will miss our beloved uncle George.
My friend Deon Botha is not doing well. The doctors stopped all his treatment and he is at home. He is very weak and has lots of pain. The cancer is in his legs now. Pray for Sonja his wife as she is looking after him.
Annerina is doing a bit better and she is still waiting for the doctor’s treatment. Hope to hear more from her soon. Pray for her and Jean as the diagnosis was a huge shock for them.
Continue to pray for Quinton and Andrea. Pray for their complete healing.
Please pray for Bokaho and his wife. He got a heart attack the other night and his wife revived him by doing 20-30minutes of CPR on him. He was doing well till a few days ago when he had a setback again. They are down in Phnom Pehn now to run some test on him. They are missionaries from India working for a good friend here in Siem Reap.

I leave you this week with this:
Like the prophet Daniel, you and I can become catalysts for redemptive change in our time. We can be people of influence who know our goal is not to be right but to be effective. We can be people who stand out because of the way we relate to others, especially those different from us. We can be people who serve those in need with a willing spirit and gracious generosity. We can be people who reflect the loving-kindness of a good God. We can be people who stand firm and love well.
The Daniel Dilemma: How to Stand Firm and Love Well in a Culture of Compromise by Chris Hodges, Lysa TerKeurst

O by the way, the food tasted pretty good. Teenagers rule in this household hahahaha
