Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 4 February 2019

Twans was invited by AOC (Asian Outreach Cambodia) to come and conduct a First Aid Workshop  as well as a workshop on Special Need and Autism for the local  staff and teachers in Stung Treng.  It was very special to see the hunger to learn from the Khmer staff and teachers. 62 teachers attended the workshop on Autism and it was clear that there is a great need for teaching on these very relevant topics. AOC also invited the parents of special needs'children to come and share on Saturday night. This was very special, Twans, Petra ( her German friend with 3 special needs'children) and Emily met with the parents and just listened to each other and gave encouragement. One father shared how much they appreciate someone coming to listen to them and helping them. We hope they could form a support group and provide more help for them in the future.

God is so good, yes, when we go through life with a child with special needs it is never easy, but they turn us into special people as we learn so much from them and God.  Pray for these families (we did not take pictures of them as we did not want them to feel on display). It was heart breaking to see their sadness. We have Jesus, who help us, encourages us, gives us hope, who do they have ? We pray that there would be opportunity for AOC to build relationship with them and that they would hear the Gospel.

Our NGO needs renewal again, and once again it is a madhouse. New requirements every time the papers are handed in and lots of drama. Please pray for favour and that the request for renewal will be accepted and processed in time as our visas expire in April. Mordegai will go down to Phnom Pehn this week to work on his and the children’s visas. I asked Water of Life to help us and they agreed. Pray for Channa who need to put the papers in. This is always a serious thing when you are doing God’s work, we need visas and its getting more and more difficult to get them. Been there and done it before, so just pray.

We are so thankful that we can help some tribal people from Banlung and beyond, about 8 hours away, to bring their injured and children to the hospitals around here. Children below 16 is free in 2 hospitals here and all we have to do is to pay their taxi-fair back and forth which is U$10/person, I call that a bargain. The little boy with a Hernia need to be back in June and then they will operate on him. The boy that broke his leg badly is in Battambang hospital and they need to wait for his swelling to stop in order to operate. Another little girl fell from a run-away tractor and hurt her pretty badly. She needs a CT scan and I am not so sure what they will do. Praise God for James’s heart for the tribal people and willingness to help them. All we have to do is just make a way for them to get to good doctors.

We asked for prayer for Didi that was in hospital. Please pray for her family who need to deal with this as well as the people that helped her here.
Friends and Family of Divina (Didi) Dacanay, She fought the good fight of faith, she had finished the race and for her: To live is for Christ and to die is gain.
She will be missed and remembered as a woman of faith and compassion.
☺In behalf of our Family church in Poipet and Dacanay Family, I would like to express our healthful gratitude and thanksgiving for all the prayers and financial support you unconditionally given throughout the most challenging moment of Sis Didi Dacanay life journey. God bless you always!

It is Chinese New Year here in Asia.
The 2019 Chinese New Year Day is on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in China's time zone. This day is the new moon day of the first Chinese lunar month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar system. The exact new moon time is at 5:04 on 2019-02-05 in China time zone.
2019 Zodiac PigChinese New Year 2019 animal sign is the Brown Pig. Chinese calendar combines solar, lunar and 60 Stem-Branch counting systems. The 60 Stem-Branch calendar uses the names of Yin Yang Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) and 12 animals to rank the sequences. Five elements are connected to five colors - White, Black, Green, Red, and Brown. So Chinese use the color animal name to count the year. The name of 2019 is the Female Earth Pig. Brown is connected to Earth. Therefore, 2019 is also called Brown Earth Pig Year.
The first day of the Brown Pig year is not the Chinese New Year Day in Chinese Astrology. The first day of the Tiger month is the first day of the Chinese Astrology year. This day is called Start of Spring, which is the date when the sun enters the 315th degree on the tropical zodiac. This day is around February 4, each year. 2019 Chinese Brown Pig starts on February 4, 2019 in China's time zone. That means Chinese Lunar New Year is not the first day of Brown Pig Year. If a baby is born on or after February 4, 2019, then baby's zodiac sign is the Pig, not Dog.

Thank you once again for taking the time and even read this mail what to say, pray!! We really appreciate it so much.
Love
