Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 11 February 2019

I shared with you a while ago that we planned to build a small Learning centre/school/church/ community building in the village nearby where we work for so many years. This is now the classical example of Felt need vs Real need. When we visited there the first time we felt a real need for a building to help the 100’s of children that run around without a school. We believe the Lord was in it and we got the wood for the project but then things turned sour.

The local Temple and monks came and took 20 of their children to the temple 20km away. People started to get afraid to go against the wishes of the temple. So our plan was put on hold. Well after about 6 months now, I got news that the people are begging us to come back. They cleared the land and want us to help the 3 villages around in teaching their children, just to read and write Khmer. Recently a friend came and made it possible for Heang and his wife to be able to move back to Thor Piang Rosey and they are willing to teach in the village. We are in the beginning of negotiating again how we can do this. Pray with us that this time would be the hour of the Lord’s light to start shining in this village or villages. Will keep you posted. No shortage of excitement here in the Kingdom.

Anton left on their yearly school-camp at a beautiful new campsite near Kep. Please pray for Hope school Phnom Penh as well as Siem Reap, where they will stay there for the week. Pray God’s protection over our children while there as well as they travel back on Friday.

Continue to pray for our visas. I went down to Phnom Pehn and my friend gave in my papers today so now we just need to wait and see. Pray also for our NGO’s papers that need to be submitted very soon. Just as you think everything is right, a new policy comes in play and you need to change everything.

Rose and her husband will come on Saturday to visit us all the way from India. They are missionaries working under the Leper people.  Rose was one of our leaders in Ywam in 1996 and that was the last time we saw each other. Looking forward to a nice fellowship with them and a great outreach into the jungle. Pray for their safe travels.

I feel like a real mechanic with bike parts all over the garage as I work on 2 small bikes that were wasted in the rainy season. Fix them now so they will be ready for the mud and water onslaught later in the year. Poor bikes, never think they can do that much. We are so privilege to learn so many new things here in the bundoes, as fixing the bikes yourselves, you know it’s done properly……….or not!! Hahaha

Reading a small plan online in YouVersion on “It starts with me”, with the boys and this one is talking to me as well.
It Starts With Me Playing My Part
As Christians, the church is not just a building we spend a few hours at every week. We are the church and we each have a part to play in it. Being able to enjoy the community that church offers us starts with each of us playing our part.
The Church has existed for 2,000 years and spans across the entire world. It is “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:20). The Church is ‘The Body Of Christ’ – the gathering of believers who are on mission to fulfill the Great Commission.
As a believer you and the church you attend are a part of the large scale Church – the Body of Christ. Because the whole body is made up of many different parts, there is a specific part you play and contribution you can make to the body. Whether it is speaking on stage, greeting at the door, serving coffee, or giving generously, everyone’s contribution makes the whole body grow and be able to continue Jesus' work on Earth.
• If you simply attend church without playing a part, we encourage you to think of an area you would like to serve at and then get involved!
The part you play in contributing to the Body of Christ is significant. You wouldn’t choose to do without any of your body parts and neither would Jesus or His Church choose to do without you!
• In Ephesians 4:16 Paul wrote, “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Specifically, what part do you play in church, or what interests you?

Have a great week.
Love
