Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 7 January 2019

Happy New Year to you all. We kicked off this New Year very slowly. After Suzaan left, we were not ready to go fast. She came and visits us for about 3 weeks which was such a blessing. We had a blast visiting here at home, not doing much as the truck decided to have Christmas as well with the mechanics. That made for a nice time here at home. It was nice to have all the children together and enjoyed being a full house. It was hard saying goodbye to our beloved daughter as she left on the 28th of December. She left a huge gap in our house. She will be missed this year.

I had the privilege to go to one of my dear friends and Khmer family, Sasa’s wedding. It was a beautiful wedding as I could visit with long-time friends and family. Traditions in the Christian weddings are real special. The couple have to lie for the last time in their mother’s lab, they have to wash the feet of their parents and asked forgiveness for all they did wrong and be blessed by the parents. I visited with my good friend John and his lovely wife Run. Please pray for them as she is pregnant.

We ask your earnest prayer for one of Toinette's students. Bunthong, was in a serious motorcycle accident. He has serious head injuries and broken cheekbones. They transported him to a hospital in Phnom Penh this afternoon as the hospital here cannot deal with the seriousness of his injuries. Bunthong, graduated from gr 12 last year and has been working for a resort in SiemReap. The general manager of this resort was at the hospital too and shared with Argie, how he is impressed with Bunthong's character and that he is a good employee. Please pray for him,  he does not believe in Jesus yet.

Please pray for my friend Deon Botha. He started this morning not feeling well with fever bad coughing. They went to the doctor and wait for test results. Pray that he will get strength to continue his work. Apparently he got a bad lung infection and his iron levels are low. He is now on meds and we pray that he will be good in no time. He will see his Cancer doctor on the 14th January.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the victory over the Khmer Rouge. This story is from Steve Hyde and his Khmer wife Noit. What a testimony of forgiveness.
Today marks the 40th anniversary of the victory over the Khmer Rouge. The final end did not come until 1998, but this is the day Phnom Penh was liberated 40 years ago. Noit's teenage years were lost to war and genocide which took not only nearly her entire family but as many as 3 million other Cambodians. Today, we simply remember the past bit especially pray for the surviving victims. Few young people can fathom or understand what happened during the Khmer Rouge. Most projects and ministries only focus on building the capacity of young people and often ignore the victims who are 50++ now. Many are still hurting and broken. Today, on this day, would you pray for the surviving victims that they can have true peace in their hearts? The war is gone, but scars still hurt like open wounds. My wife Noit was able to find not only peace, but healing and even restoration through her relationship with Jesus Christ. She even had a chance to share the love of Jesus personally with the top leaders of the Khmer Rouge genocide...those personally responsible for the murder of her family and the destruction of Cambodia. This could only happen with a heart full of love instead of hate and bitterness. Thank you for praying for the surviving victims of the Khmer Rouge genocide today.

Thank you very much for continuing to pray for us in this New Year. May this year be a gift from God to you and may you accept it with open arms.
Love
Rossouw-clan
