We are having such a wonderful week with Suzaan here
with us. First on the list was the Angkor Wat marathon. I went with some
friends and we could watch the crowds running. What a festive event this was.
Good to see people coming together and really enjoying themselves.
Not much happening here on my side and I can feel
the end of the year is here. It is time to start reflecting what has happened
in this year. Ministry is slow as my co-workers all are moving, getting married
or are too busy. I find myself supporting and guiding them from the sidelines
with setting up their lives as they try to move forward. It is time for me to let
God show me what will happen in the future. Do not worry a bit, I am needed
more than ever at home with Toinette very busy teaching and giving home-school
to Gideon.
Twans gave feedback on all FGC Community Link is up
to: December is one of the busiest months for our ministry as we have a lot of
teams visiting with the desire to serve and spread the Gospel. The teams from
the FG church in Malaysia come with a humble servant heart and really bring
encouragement to us all to continue reaching out. We have a lot of Christmas
Parties to plan. The fun of course is in the preparation. We are making our own
Christmas tree from bamboo sticks, recycled paper stars and students are all
contributing to care packages for very poor families. The River of Life Church
invites many people and use this as an opportunity to share about Jesus.
Please pray
for our university students to have a growing desire to spend time in God’s
word. Please continue to pray for Sakhav
and Davin (2 grade 11 boys not yet coming to church) to join us on Sundays for
Mighty Kids. The girls are coming faithfully now. During Value Class this month
we look at how we can make a difference in our community and our own life and
the older class really started to open up about negative thinking patterns in
their own lives. Thank you for your prayer for these students, God has a plan for each, to come to know Him and serve Him !
Talking this week to our Khmer friends we came to
realise the huge impact the witch doctors or spiritual people have on people.
Most of the people have a spiritual man/woman that looks over them and advice
them what to do and not to do. They have to follow strictly what the person
says or else they will have trouble. Every bit of knowledge and education we
can share, really help people to discern between lies and truth. My good friend
write the following::
We spend some time today in an unreached
remote village, sharing to mostly illiterate people about the existence of
Lucifer and going out on house visitation. A very sick lady told us about how
the witch doctor explained the reason for her illness. According to the witch
doctor she didn't bring offerings and never held a ceremony to her dead
husband. She then went and spends about $1000 dollars for the ceremony and
erected a huge 2m altar for him in the house. Furthermore the witch doctor told
her the one existing bedroom in the house need to be demolished as bad spirits
is in the room. So she broke down the room. Today she is still sick and in
future bondage and in a lot of debt.
Suzaan will be going to Vietnam on Wednesday but
will return after 10 days. Pray for a safe journey. Thank you for praying for us.
Love
