Before we started our medical outreach there was
some time to go and visit an untouched lake, not too far from the village. Samai
and I always wanted to go and visit there but it always was rainy season which
make the road not good. This time we could go and was stunned by the beauty of these
2 lakes. Big trees, that you do not see in Cambodia, anymore, is all around the
lakes. The police and local government try to preserve some of this fragile
environment. I was just amazed at how God can make things just so beautiful.
It’s a shame to see tribal people live in such dirty
villages that they do not care to clean. They do not use the deep wells,
provided for them with clean water, but instead still use spring water that is
already contaminated. I can see the difference in all the medicines I need to
give. Diarrhea and itchy skin is a big problem. Because of all the garbage lying
around, all the children have worms and because of all the burning of rubbish,
everyone is coughing. So many problems in this place.
We see a huge need for someone to come and adress all
these problems. We pray that we maybe can make a difference in teaching people,
after we have a good relationship with the people. We still need more time to
build relationship in order to address these problems. The pastor there is a
key person around and we pray that we can start there. Pray with us for
building relationships in order to change people’s way of living. In order for
them to survive we need to build a specialized program for them around their
believes and practises.
Please pray for a dear friend, Pastor Manus Olivier.
The cancer started to grow again and he needs to go for an operation on 20
March 2018. Pray for healing in Jesus name.
Praise God for a healthy little boy, Levi Bruce
Wideman. Ben and Hannah are in Thailand and she gave birth a few days ago. Now
they are waiting for Levi’s passport to be finalized and then they will be back
in Siem Reap.
Please pray for Toinette. She is struggling with
some sort of something. We are trying to find out what it is and did tests this
afternoon. First she had a bad cough but now he is just very tired and feels
weak. Pray for healing please. Praise God that Gideon and Mordegai is doing
much better.
Continue to pray for Fe as she and her family is
fighting the good fight, staying in the Philippines.
March 8 we celebrated International Women’s Day
with the students in the village. They invited their mothers to come and join.
The students were divided into groups and had to prepare a presentation on a
country, sharing some interesting customs, greetings in the local language and
wearing the national dress. They also
prepared a special gift for their mothers. Our missionary friend, Petra, shared
a short word of encouragement to the mothers. It is encouraging to see how the
students have grown and developed in Acts programme.
I will be homebound this week helping Toinette as
she is not feeling well. Good to be home so I can repair everything that is
broken, and that is plenty. Thank you very much for your prayers. May the good
Lord bless you all in this week to come? Please write to us and tell us about
everything that’s happening on your side of the globe.
Love
