Greetings from a very wet Cambodia. Rainy season
started, or may I say, it hardly stopped from last year. There is lots of
flooding due to illegal logging and I am sure it’s hard for some people due to
their crops being destroyed. Pray for this fragile country.
Cambodia’s most important ecosystem, the Tonle Sap,
is in crisis. Is the damage past the point of no return? Millions rely on the Tonle Sap Lake for food
and irrigation, and its destruction would have repercussions across the whole
Kingdom. What can be done?
It is so good to sit in church and listen to the
word of God. Listen to a sermon on Ruth yesterday. It was interesting to know
that Haman redeemed Naomi and Ruth’s curse over them so they can be free again
to enter the blood line of Jesus. I know of another guy that did that for us!!
Jesus died on a cross so that we can have eternal life.
It was a busy week for Acts Kouk Ro Say. We had a
team here from Malaysia who taught Value class and helped with the Joshua
Generation ( Bible study with teens on Saturdays). A doctor from the team went with Twans and
taught the Women in the village about diarrhoea, dental care and hygiene. The
women enjoyed it very much. 16 mothers came and all their children.
Toothbrushes and toothpaste were handed out.
We were encouraged to keep on working hard, that our labour is not in
vain and that there would be much fruit. God is truly faithful; He is the one
making the seeds that we sow grow.
Were reminded again this week to be more thankful.
One of the teachers shared how touched she was to see the younger children
being so thankful for their little food they have. They bring their lunch to
school and sometimes it is really just rice and a little bit of dried fish.
There is no hesitation to share and they are all so happy, no one is
complaining because it is only a teaspoon full of dried fish or boiled egg
again. They are an example to us.
Listen to Fe speaking in church and giving her
testimony on how good God is for her, in the mist of absolute turmoil. She
stood small of stature, but tall and brave in front of the church and tell everyone
that she still believe in God to heal her. Wow she makes us feel so ashamed for
complaining about our small problems. Please pray with us as she is back in the
Philippines. Thursday 24 August is a big day as she will get her first chemo.
Here is something in her own words.
God's grace is sufficient for me... For
His strength is made perfect in my weaknesses (1Cor. 12:9) I could not imagine
how I managed to accomplish what I needed to finish in a week time. GRACE!

Continue to pray for my dear friend Jared and Emily
Reid from Stung Treng. It is his birthday today and he sure needs some
encouragement. He writes: “I’m 33 years old today, (yeah happy B’day to me,
thanks), but despite my youthful appearance my body disagrees with my mind most
days. It has been a season of accepting limitations despite my attempts to defy
logic. This week I have relented somewhat, accepting that I am not 100% yet and
need to slow down a touch. More than the physical though, is the mental game of
finding the right balance of care and concern for my future health. I find it
challenging to plunge head on into future plans and commitments with the small
cancer monkey placing thoughts like lice into my head.”
I have been spending a bit of time with Jared,
mostly on the bike, but that makes up for about 90% of our friendship, hahahaha.
We went on a real muddy path down a river and out again. Was great catching up
with friends and enduring a good workout for our bodies as well as our minds as
well. Pray with us as we try to find ways in helping some of our friends on the
mission field as well as working alongside them. God is good in letting us have
good relationships with people.
Continue to pray for our brother Quinton. He is due
for his next big Cancer test the end of the month. Pray for him where health
and work is not doing well and makes for a very stressful environment. Pray for
our economy in Namibia to go on the upswing again. Business is very difficult
these days.
Thank you for standing with us and our friends, in
prayer. It is a reminder for us every day to pray for each other.
Love
Rossouw-clan
