Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it have to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work ,where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Toinette is at home with the boys. Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish with Hope school this year and start online classes .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers Jan.06 2014

Hmmmmm first Monday of the year. Happy New Year and a Belated Merry Christmas.sorry for being so quite over this time, but Christmas is not the best time for us, here in Cambodia.
To start with:
Here they do not make such a fuss about Christmas..
Christmas is a time that you need to be with family and friends and we are alone here.....we had friends over but its not family....
We had a real hard time this last month, with everything that was breaking and we felt, we are broken as well.......
We were just here at home and was trowing sorrow-balls and drank pity-soup.......

But that is not what Christmas is all about. It is not about ourselves. When I feel low, I go and sit with my friend Apu and reality sinks in. Here is a mum with 3 children. One son is rotting away, the other son have Epilepsy and his brain is cooked, just the daughter is normal.....what do I have to grumble about. My truck is broken, big deal, I am in good health, here we have people that is fighting for their lives, working themselves till death, to make ends meet and need to struggle with children that is sick. So why am I grumbling? Dang we are so self centered if we have time.

Let me tell you about Apu. Today I took some friends with me from our little NGO. Davy was talking to Apu and asked him if he is ready to receive Jesus. ""Yip, I am ready"": he said.....well, well well, there you have it!! Sometimes God want us there in the pit of despair in order for us to realize that we have only one chance to make a decision to follow Him.Today, I felt, we had won a great battle. We just came to conclusion that we are in a heavy battle here in Cambodia. We are so busy with helping people that we forget, why we help them.....We are here to make God's presence known and people need to see us doing it. Today was one of those days.

One thing that hit me while I was standing there. While Davy prayed, she started to cry for Apu. His mum and another neighbor started to cry as well. I felt God's presence there around Apu. Now this is an old Boer talking from Namibia. God is good and I know He will look after that boy. God touched that mum's heart as well. This is the first time that someone shared the gospel to them. This is how we fight the battle, one by one.......

We also visited my friend Pro. He shared to us that after his accident, his wife left him withthis child and left. As he was not able to support her anymore. this is now 3 years that the rest of his family is supporting him. His dad is working far away from home in order to support them. looking at a family that help each other, is such a precious thing to see. that is what Pol Pot tried to destroy, but this family stick together and help each other. With God on their side, they are fighting the battle. We left him with a prayer and encouragement.

Wow, what a day....enjoyed it to be in battle. Forgotten are all the problems with stuff that happens in our lives, God matters.......

Please pray for Cambodia as it is also in battle. Peaceful Demonstrations turned bad and lots of people got killed. follow the links to read about it. Pray for peace and calmness in these days.

Thank you very much for your input into our lives. May God bless you richly in these days that come.
