Good evening dear friends and family
Yesterday afternoon at church they had a surprise “Birthday
in Advance” Cake for Twans. We are blessed to be a part of this small community.
I was reminded of an article Yancey wrote once on why he doesn’t attend a
megachurch. In it, he quotes G.K. Chesterton, “The man who lives in a
small community lives in a much larger world… The reason is obvious. In a large
community, we can choose our companions. In a small community, our companions
are chosen for us” We tend to surround ourselves with those like us,
those we most want to live with, but that is not a community, that is a club.
Anyone can from a club; it takes grace, shared vision, and hard work to form a
community. By forming a community out of diverse members, Paul said in
Ephesians 3, we have the opportunity to capture the attention of the world!
Please pray for another outreach to another group of refugees
tomorrow. It is a privilege to reach out to them with God’s love. We will bring
swings and a seesaw for the children.
We also ask for prayer for Anton. He has to apply for
an internship for the last 3 months of his course. Please pray for guidance and
open doors.
