Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 8 Jan. 2024

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I guess I need to say that aloud as I refrain from doing that over this time, sorry for being so quiet. Not the best merry of times as the longing for Gideon is just stronger by the day. Do not worry too much as we celebrated this time with lots of friends.

We kicked off with a beautiful wedding of Sang, one of Toinette’s former students and now her teaching partner. It was a nice Khmer wedding with all the sounds only they can produce and of course very nice food. From there on we had a year-end party with FGC and their staff. Lots of fun and food of course. Then our friends Joshua and Katlyn and their 6 children came and stayed with us here till New Year. What a blast, phew. We enjoyed the Mexican food and all the beautiful children.

This year we celebrated 29 years since we first stepped on Asian soil on the 5 Jan.1996 in Singapore. Oh my goodness we had an adventure over all these years. Like a friend said, through many ups and very lows only by the grace of God. These days I think back a lot about those wonderful years of learning so much, these days seem so dull compared to those exciting days in Davao. I know we are in a very different season of our lives right now. We rest by the fact that God loves us and that He still is in control of our walk with Him. Whatever Lord!!

I am waiting for a good friend to come and visit and then we will be out in the jungle again. This month I need to work on some small projects I got around town. Lots of repairs on bikes and broken furniture etc. It seems never to stop. Toinette is busy with the children in the village and still enjoying the small ones that come and beg for her lunch every day. Maybe that is a form of diet, not sure, they are so cute you want to give them everything you have. We are very thankful for all the children that come every Sunday for Mighty Kids and the teenagers coming to the Joshua generation program. Pray for the FGC staff that work so hard every Sunday. Anton is busy with his school and assignments. He is in the last stretch of this year and looking forward to being finished by June this year.

We hope that this year brings lots of rain for our friends in Namibia. May the Lord have great plans for you all and we pray that our ears will be open to listen to His sweet voice and our hearts be soft to receive His blessings.

Love

Rossouw-clan
