Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night Prayers 28 March 2022

Good evening!

So good to hear from some of you after our letter last week. Thank you for your prayer and encouragement. Mordegai went to Ratanakiri and returned tired but safe yesterday afternoon.

Twans had a week full of activities with the students. JhunMar from Men of Dignity came to teach them how to make a bamboo star lantern for Khmer New Year Celebration coming up in April. The students loved all the practical work. Each one had a turn using some of the power tools and they learned how to work together in teams. One student wrote a short thank-you note in which she says thank you to her teachers. In it, she says thank you for not getting angry when I don't understand but always helping me. She also says she knows her teachers love her and she enjoys coming to the Acts center every day.  Pray for them as some of them join the Mighty Kids program on Sundays, that they will come to know and believe that this love they see in their teachers comes from Jesus.

Ratanakiri did not disappoint at all. We went to Nanghai village, Seda commune, Lonphat district, Ratanakiri province. This is the village near the twin lakes and one of my fav places to go. Lots of tribal Jarai people came for meds and we even saw some wound care as well. Had to help a boy that burned with hot water and fixed a guy’s foot after the doctor did a terrible job of it. Saw this boy that was born with defects but could walk. Life threw him a curveball as he got a fever and got brain damage and is paralyzed from his knees down and from his elbows down. Asked if he would like a wheelchair, he was happy.

We could give out some nice knitted woolen blankets to some of the ladies that were pregnant or had small babies. I got this donated from Australia and am happy to give this to mothers in remote places. We could also give away some wooden cars, made by yours truly. When the boys and girls realize there are wooden cars, they waited the whole time for one. They were so happy to get some and played so nice with their new toy. I hope to make more and give away cars every time we go out into villages. A good smile on a child’s face is worth gold. I am sure Gideon would have loved that as well.

It was great to hang out with good friends and family in Ratanakiri and felt much loved while being there. We have fond memories of Gideon there so it makes for a trip down memory lane. Khmer New year is approaching so need to put outreaches a bit on hold for a few weeks but will start soon afterward.

Love to hear from you all about news in your neck of the woods.

Love

Rossouw-clan
