I had the most cereal moments on this last trip. I took the bike, alone through the jungle and slept with our friends in the jungle. Driving by yourself makes things interesting and you have lots going through your mind. Recent developments at school for Anton, that need some serious prayer in the coming year, raising 2 teenagers without killing them hahaha, some beautiful things happening in our lives and of course I need to concentrate on not falling down too many times…… Well in the morning, it was nice and cool and I sat outside and just feast my eyes at the beauty around me. Listening to birds that we normally do not hear in the city. It was a good time of reflection if you can see me do that, hmmmm.
First I had an outreach with my good friend Donnie and his team from PCM- Patient Care Ministry. We went to a new place deep into the rubber plantation. First time for me to go there. The local pastor has a small church already for 2 years in a village where all the people work in the plantation. Excellent to see the pastor and his helpers praying for people after they received some meds from Donnie. Heang from Thor Piang Rosey is involved there now and he reports good stuff happening. Pray for this church. https://web.facebook.com/patientcareministry
We moved from there to my family in Kabal Domrey. Quite a lot of people came, for this little church, and it was refreshing to see the pastor praying over people. Donnie’s guys did a great job helping people even giving them some fortified rice for extra feeding.
The next day I went into the jungle by bike. Sad to see that the jungle had to make way for cassava to be planted or for digging huge holes for gold. The devastation is heartbreaking. I understand that people need land to plant their crops but then they need to get better money than U$0, 10/kg for Cassava. You can see the hard work on their faces as they come and collect some needed meds. Everyone scolded me because I did not come earlier as they thought I will come a week earlier already. Lots of people are struggling with Typhoid and its maybe due to the fact that their water is drying up and become dirty. Just prove my point to go regular then we can get rid of these nasty illnesses.
I was good seeing my friends again as we grew quite close over these years and we know each other pretty well. These people’s hospitality blows me away every time I come there. They do not expect to be paid for anything even though they are dirt poor and work their hands off to make a living. Life in the province is so much fuller than in the city. People still have time for chitchat and having a good meal together. Nothing against city folks but I feel that people do not have time for each other anymore due to being too “busy”. The Lord instructed us to make time with our neighbors and enemies…(my version)
Noah, the girl that lives on the street is doing just fine. My friend Matt took over the cleaning when I was away. I am very proud of him for doing it. There is a first time for everything. Watching him this morning, I was amazed at how good he clean that wound. This just shows me that we need to step out of our comfort zones and just do it, even if we cannot. Believe me Matt is not comfortable with this, that’s why I am so proud of him. Love for Christ and people make us do things that we never would have imagined we ever will do. Noah receives prayer every day and knows that the Lord is with her, even if she believes or not. Pray for her as she is just there alone and vulnerable to the elements.
An update on our good friend Judy Johnson. Continue to pray for her and her fight with cancer.
FEBRUARY 11, 2021 by Ann Moberg, Organizer
Two days ago, was one of those days that "just ain’t good" for Judy!!! Miserable!!! Her legs hurt. Fingers are weak and hurt as her nails are coming off and she is plain exhausted. Mentally and physically. Her eyes are tearing up so badly she can’t see clearly so she needed to stop and rest for a while. She tried again and again but just couldn’t work so she had to call it a day and just go to bed. So glad her job lets her do that. She is very grateful to the company and all of those in her department who are helping her with time off. The next day she had a very early morning and had to be to the surgery center at 6:00am to remove the port that wasn’t working and put in a new one. Please pray that there is no infection this time. Her toes and feet are numb from the Neuropathy. Even her breathing is labored.
She is very saddened by all of this. I’m sure none of this suffering entered her mind as she began the challenges of her treatment. Though we try to look to God’s Word and understand we can’t. We can only hold on to the fact the God is with her and holding on to her through all of this. He is the only one who truly understands. Please continue to pray.
We thank the Lord for not many Covit cases herein Cambodia. Everything is normal around us. Sorry that the rest of the world and places, where you stay, is not like this but we pray that relief will come and that we can look forward to the day when things will go back to the normal they talk about.
May this week be a special week for you all?
Love
Rossouw-clan
