Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 14 December 2020

Good evening to all of you, hope it is a good evening?? Cambodia is kinda still with virus cases getting a bit more every day. The government urges people to be vigilant and not to gather but nobody listens. Weddings are still going strong and around us people meet even if they are asked not to. Drove in Siem Reap the other night and saw lots of people in restaurants without masks and was just wondering if they really want this thing to pass. Now I know the mask is an issue to lots of people but will it really make a different person out of you if you wear it?? We are so much on our rights and freedom these days that we cannot listen to good advice anymore.

Do not let me start ranting about all the Conspiracy people out there. Yip , like my dad always said:”” where there is smoke , there is a fire.”” Most of us sane people want to have a cure for this virus but now that there is one available, most people do not want to take it. That seems to dominate every conversation you start with someone. Everyone has another opinion about this vaccine. I for one want to believe science and honor what they do. Reading and listening to various people, I am sure we are in safe hands. Not Fear people but common sense.

I think the real question we need to ask is:”” who do we listen to.” Because if you listen to the media you will definitely not take the vaccine and rather die. And don’t we know that media is controlled by people and not just your ordinary people, but people with an agenda. For me the only one I want to listen to is Jesus but while staying here in Cambodia, we do not have a choice but to comply with rules, set by the local government, otherwise you look for troubles. Now here we can do whatever we want but that’s where we need to use our common sense, right??

So we are staying home and try to be safe even if we need to go out. Toinette had to go to Phnom Pehn to get her passport and license but she stay in the hotel rather than shopping around. We think it’s safer that way. I for one do not want to be the person giving someone the virus in the remote areas, so rather hang on a bit till these community cases drop a bit. I know we most properly can go but wait it out. We do not operate on Fear but we use our common sense to rather play our little part in this pandemic. Ok enough of this.

We are so glad that Anton had the chance to go out with his class to a fancy dinner. There are only 4 of them plus some teachers so a small group is fine. He dressed up pretty nice and impressed the 3 girls, which by the way, was beautiful themselves. All of them already look so grownup. School is still online and we need to wait for Gideon’s books from Australia but because the borders are closed, they cannot send it, so he is kinda sitting around.

My friend Alta van Wyk, with Covit, is doing much better, praise the Lord. Our friends Ben and Hanna Wideman is still recovering from Covit and is doing very well. Continue to pray for Ds.Manus as he is still getting his chemo. Marieta, Anti Margaret Burger’s daughter and her husband are recovering from the virus. Praise the Lord.

We are looking forward to Christmas and I hope you too. Maybe not the ideal time and setting but we still can honor Jesus wherever we are and not worry about how many people we are together. Hope and pray that this week will be a good week for you all. May God bless you in this Christmas time?

Love
