Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 5 October 2020

Every Monday night comes and go and I still am not sure where the time flies by?? Christmas is around the corner but it seems with this COVID regulations it will not work so well this year, anyhow we are here in Cambodia where Christmas is not a priority holiday and not a lot of people are in on it. It’s more a business opportunity and this year I think they will really try their best cause of the last months of nothing. We still have the famous Water Festival that is coming in November.

I want to give a warning to some people, please. Please keep your children that struggle mentally, away from this place. Sad to say but this place and the “” party”” culture hanging around is not a good culture for these children. Looking into some things that happen here at night is not good for any sane person what to say for a mentally challenged person and on top of that, you are a foreigner and they will not be able to help you as they do not know-how. Unfortunately, this is a problem here with mentally challenged local people. There are a lot of them wandering the streets and it’s a shame that nothing is done about it, but that’s reality.

I wrote that I helped a young girl this week, in my last update, to get back home. She came to Cambodia with the hopes of teaching English but then COVID strike and her hopes turned sour. She got involve in things that we are not sure of but it totally messed up her brain and her mind. She is diagnosed with some mental problems but she is taking meds for it. She disappeared for a few days recently but at least was saved by a local and brought back to her so-called boyfriend. I felt sorry for this little guy as he tries to help this girl very patiently but she was a hard case to crack.

They got on a plane and got stuck in Korea as she was not allowed to fly further cause of her condition. Talking to her mum made me realize what we as parents need to go through when our children are far away from us. Praise God for the young boy that helped her. He got hold of people that send him the COVID test results and rebook flights in order for her to flight. He had to go as his passport expired and he left her alone. Well, she made it back home and safely. Praise God for that. I was a nervous wreck so what must the mum felt like, shame. In the end, everything worked out for good and God came out victoriously as usual. Please pray for this girl as she and her family need to deal with this problem back home. God knows her name.

Let me just make this clear, it is not all the foreigners that is bad, there are thousands of them working here and we meet beautiful respectful people here but there are always the filth that is prowling around to make trouble of some sort. Here it’s easy to get involved in illegal things but if you are caught you will pay dearly.

I will be going jungle again tomorrow and take a bus with my bike inside. It is the rainy season and it rains every day so we know that it will be a wet one. Please pray for my friends that will ride from Phnom Pehn and meet my half-way. Pray for safety on these roads and pray for people’s hearts to be open for the love of Jesus.

We are doing well except for having very painful joints because of Chikungunya. Seems to me this is a forever friend that sticks like a brother hahaha. Not to worry, Toinette and I help each other as we walk and it is a sight for sore eyes hahaha. Naa not so bad, my arthritis is just 100% worse but we live around it, work is more important than sore joints. Pray for people around as they have this terrible virus. School started for Anton, not at home but for real. He is happy about that and we as well…….some rules of course but it’s ok.

Ok, enough chitchat. Hope to hear from you. So nice to listen to some of your stories, our stories are getting bores to ourselves. May this week be a blessed week and may the Lord protect each one of you from this terrible virus.

Love

Rossouw-clan
