Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 26 October 2020

Good evening to you all. We had visitors yesterday and they asked us to share how we ended up on the mission field. While sharing a testimony of over 24 years ago I got goosebumps on looking back and sharing how faithful our Heavenly Father has been. Good to look back and be encouraged to trust our God!

The rain has slowed down a bit and some of the floodings are subsiding. It makes the roads a bit easier but some roads are now more holes than the road. Twans picked Anton up from school last Friday and on the way back, several deep holes later, Anton said "Mom, I'm so proud of you, you went through all the holes, Dad seems to miss them a bit more". 😶

The Rossouw household is still coughing and sneezing but praying that we would get well soon. Mordecai's chest is not well.

Twans still enjoy going to the village most afternoons. She shares how proud she is of the students. This is a difficult time, especially for people already living on the margin. During home visitation, she is encouraged to see how the students are helping to put food on the table. One girl goes into the rice fields and catches crabs. She built a little "crab farm" with big plastic and some sticks. Now she is farming with crabs. Another student builds a proper chicken cage (He learned from FGC, Community Link’s Men of Dignity program how to build a cage) and now he is farming with quails.

This past week they taught about Cough and Cold and how our Immunity works. Then students learned about Vit C and A and afterward, we made "Fruit Kebabs". The students love to have a snack. On Wednesdays, she teaches a small group of girls (8-9 yrs old). One told her the other day "Teacher, I don't want to study, I just want to eat". She then talked to them about how our brain also needs food, not just our tummies. It is not easy for most families, food is in shortage. And now with the floods, most of their rice crops also destroyed.

This week we have 2 tribal families from Ratanakiri with us here in Siem Reap. They are bringing their sick children for a check-up at the children's hospital. Please pray for favor at the hospital, wisdom for the doctors, and healing. The one girls have urinary system problems and the other child has a broken bone that is not healing right. It is a big step for tribal families to come for help. We pray that God would speak to them through all this.

Our Khmer family in Kampong Tom was also here last week. The little boy cut his eye with a piece of wire. They stitched up the eye and need to return for follow up in a week's time. Mordegai gave them a gift to help with all the expenses. Then John (the older brother wrote to him afterward and said thank you. He told Mordegai that when his sister phoned him to tell that Mordegai helped them she cried and said she is so thankful to God.

Thank you for praying with us. May this week be a pretty amazing week for you all?

Love

Rossouw-clan
