Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 7 September 2020

Between dodging mozzies and getting sick, our household is doing not so bad. Mordegai and the boys have been done with Chikungunya but poor Toinette got it a few days ago and she is in agony. Now fevers are gone but she has a lot of joint pain and very weak. Never know that women work so hard in the kitchen hahaha, some more respect going their way, between dishes and cooking, I do not get much to do otherwise, naaa not really. The boys are good at helping and cooking with mum. Our poor helper has her hands full as her whole family, including her, have Dengue. To show you what a pest this virus is. Her husband felt great after a week and started working in the rice field just to end up in the hospital. Rest is the key. Please pray also for my friend Heang in Thor Piang Rosey. His wife is also sick with the Chi-virus.

It is Anton’s 15th birthday today and we are amazed that time flew by so fast. Just yesterday he was this little blond sweetheart and today he is this teenager that does not stand back for anything. Not much of a celebration but we did the best we could with eating at their favorite Old Beijing Dumpling House. Mum got herself from the bed and instructed the boys to cook up a storm for us last night. Amazing what this wonder woman can do.

Mordegai ignored the sickness and went out with a few friends into the jungle and gave out some needed meds. So many people in the jungle right now as it is the rainy season and everyone is planting and cultivating the land. One of the bikes broke, got it out to the highway and fixed it and back again, happened a few times with another one as well, but we met a mechanic in one house and it just so happens that his place was next on the list. Can you believe it that we got to fix the bike in the middle of the bush? Our poor bikes got a real beating as the road was really slippery and full of mud and water, yummy for some and not so for others. We got the bikes out the next day, mine broke 8km from the highway, luckily Scott gave me a pull to the bus and I was ok. Adithja’s bike broke on the highway as well and Manoj had to pull it as well. Shows you how hard these poor things had to work.

It was great to see 2 boys from COH- Children of Hope, with Curtis. Teenagers are up for the challenge and the guys had to ride bikes, O we had good laughs, not that they fell more than yours truly….. We slept over with our good friends, just underneath the mountain and it was like being home. We arrived in the dark and immediately the ladies got up, slaughter a chicken, and prepare food for us. Such hospitality is hard to come by. It was so nice to see Curtis, Scott, and Manoj visit with the uncle and anti and shared God’s love with them. That is why I love bringing these guys with me as they do the side I am not so good in and that is the evangelistic side. Their language is up to key and for me, well, I rather say nothing. God is working in that family’s hearts. https://www.wateroflifecambodia.com/children-of-hope-cpxe

Good news from Ratanakiri. We asked prayer for a small boy with a swollen eye, that turned out to be cancer, and then he died. The tribal parents were devastated but my friend from there write to us with this news.

“” Hello, I hope you and the boys have recovered. The chi fever is hitting Ratanakiri also. I do have some good news, for you and the couple you had to visit the family whose boy died of cancer. They have gone to Church twice now and prayed to believe, and evidently, he sings Christian songs beautifully. They say he is a more serious Christian than those who have been in church a long time. Obviously, the Siem Reap hospital trip was a turning point in their lives. Thank you for your part in this. Of course, both wife and husband joined the church at the same time.  That was the week after their son died.”” Anne

Schools are starting here tomorrow and it will be a little of a mess till they sort out the groups of children that can come to school and get some teaching. We hope they will open Hope School soon. Online schooling is good for Anton but it will be better if they can be around some other kids as well. So please pray for the school situation here in Cambodia as well as elsewhere in your own place.

Thanks for praying so diligently for us and others. May God be with you in this week to come and may you experience the love of the Lord wherever you go.

Love

Rossouw-clan
