Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 8 June 2020

Dear Friends and Family,
With all going on in the world it was good for me to be reminded today of the verse in Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Let’s not just focus on color, race, nationality, etc but be reminded our fight is against the evil forces not each other.

Twans and the FGC Community Link staff are doing home visitations to all the students and church members as we are still not allowed to open schools. She shares the following: It is truly humbling to go out and visit all the families of the students from our ACTS program. Most of the plants and sell vegetables for an income. At one home the grandmother and mother were making small bundles of herbs that they harvested. They sell the bundles at the market for only 400 riel for 10 bundles! I sat there feeling so ashamed of how easily I spend 1 U$ (4000 riel) and here these 2 women work very hard for so little. Still, they welcome us to their homes with warmth and hospitality. One father was busy making a trap to catch fish when we arrived at his home this afternoon. He immediately sends his son up the coconut tree to get some coconuts for us to drink as it was hot outside. We give a short lesson with some exercises to the students and it is great to have one on one time with them.

Mordegai and some friends went to visit our friends deep in the jungle. It was a glorious reunion. They asked us why we took so long to come, as we explained about Covid-19, they were laughing. Even the police told us that they do not have any cases in the jungle. Thank God for that. I was amazed at how many people are currently in the jungle or the clear parts, planting Cassava and tend to their Cashew trees. They were so happy to get medicine again as it is a real mission now to get to town due to some nice rain.

We spend the night at our friends in Som Paom. They made us some real Khmer food with some Prohok(rotten fish paste) and delicious soup and chicken from their yard. All organic stuff. We played with a calf that is sleeping in the house and wants to sleep in a hammock with us,hahaha. They tell us that they are not allowed to use machines to dig for gold anymore as a company came and told them to stop using machines and now they are only allowed to do panning. Why they do things like, nobody knows, no these people have it very hard and doing work like this will be impossible. We were just reminded that we need to pray more for our fellow friends in Cambodia as the going is really rough and tuff at this time.

We could also visit the new village where we build a little place to teach some Khmer for children who not attend school. It will start maybe in November after the schools start again. So many people came for medicines as it was organized by the leader of the village. I am looking forward to Heang to start teaching there.

Please pray for the following people:
Ouma Paula is doing better but not out of the woods yet. The shoulder pain a fair bit but she keeps it still and manages the pain.
Owen is doing much better and he said that he will be on a bike soon again, now that’s a real Aussie speaking, rough as guts and hard as nails.
Please pray for America as things are not well at this time. People are rioting and people get killed in the process. Pray for all of this craziness to stop.

Thank you once again for praying for us, may you have a great week ahead. We pray that you can bring any problems to God.
Love
Rossouw-clan.

Police officers told to monitor all social media posts
National Police chief General Neth Savoeun today urged all officers to monitor social media platforms such as Facebook for posts by ill-intentioned groups who attack the government.
During a monthly meeting at National Police Headquarters, Gen Savoeun instructed all police officers to pay attention to maintaining security, public safety, and especially prevent hostile groups who attempt to overthrow the government, National Police spokesman Lieutenant General Chhay Kim Khoeun said.
“General Neth Savoeun has instructed us to monitor social media platforms such as Facebook for public opinion, both constructive criticism and hostile posts by groups out to attack the government,” Lt Gen Kim Khoeun said. “We will accept truthful criticism and we will act immediately against those who have ill-intentions to attack on the government.”
He called on social media platform users to post information to serve social interests rather than to destroy society. “We will take legal action against those who insult the King, post untrue information or incite people not to repay their bank debts,” Lt Gen Kim Khoeun said “They use Facebook to destroy society, so police will take legal action.”

Last week, Interior Minister Sar Kheng slammed former opposition party leader Sam Rainsy for instigating people to start a civil disobedience campaign to obtain debt relief and to stop servicing loans. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50730432/police-officers-told-to-monitor-all-social-media-posts/
