Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 6 April 2020

Reporting here from the East. Not much is happening or if it happens it is slow. We are not on an official lockdown yet but it can happen anytime. It just depends on how many new cases of the virus we get or if things turn south. The biggest test will be in the following week when it is Khmer New Year. The government did not call it off but rather urge the people not to have big parties and gatherings in any form. With thousands of Khmer people that came from Thailand, the country is gearing towards their biggest holiday in the year. Please pray that people will behave in order for the government not to implement the Emergency lockdown.
With Easter coming and being in a country where Easter is not well celebrated in the churches due to the Khmer New year, it feels like Easter is postponed this year. We need to make a real effort to listen to church online and hope to celebrate this Sunday. It is so easy to just let it go due to the virus epidemic, but like the Khmer New Year is the biggest celebrations for locals, so Easter need to be the biggest celebration for us Christians. According to Wikipedia, there are several countries that celebrate New Year around the middle of April. Here is will be on the 13th of April.

People are staying home or the ones that can afford it. It is hard for poor people to stop working due to finances. Lots of people are without work right now as most of the businesses are closed. I was worried about Apo and his family because the people do not like it if we as foreigners go into the village at this time. He came to check on us and I was so happy to see him so I can give him meds for Apo. The Lord is helping out.  Products in the markets are expensive and people do not buy that much so much go to waste. We are canning mangoes and carrots and what else we can find of the leftovers in the market. Great time to stock up on things you can keep.
We have great times with the boys as we are currently painting their room and they can help too. Good time to do something together and we treasure times like this. Toinette started with 3 online courses and she is a busy girl.

I just received news from a friend back in Namibia. After the drought, they had such good rain and the grass was growing very well. Just this week they got a severe storm and the rain was so hard that it blew the grass down. Now, for you that do not know Namibia. We have tall grass that stands up pretty high with seeds. We do not have grass on the ground. So if this grass falls down or breaks it dies and then you have nothing left. So, please pray that this grass will stand up again and grow, otherwise another drought would be imminent. My friend asks us to pray over:
Ezekiel 37:4-6.  Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!  Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.  I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.”

Some news from Cambodia
As of yesterday, the Kingdom has recorded 114 COVID-19 cases, including 49 Cambodians, 40 French, 13 Malaysians, five Britons, two Americans, two Indonesians, one Canadian, one Belgian, and one Chinese. Of them, 50 have been cured. No new cases were reported on Saturday and yesterday. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50709981/national-assembly-to-meet-soon-on-draft-emergency-law/

Thank you very much for praying for us. May God give your patience and hope at this time.
