Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 02 March 2020

Gideon and I took a quick road trip down to Kampong Tom to deliver some needed papers to the Local Government. It was just great seeing Gideon so relaxed after a horrible week of school and flaring tempers about new schoolwork. Just what a boy need is goats, chickens, ducks and lots of other animals. Seeing him interact with these animals is amazing. Needless to say that we could see the fleas on him afterward, hahaha. I so wish we can get a piece of a farm for him to have some animals.

Heang came with me to the village that we planned to build a small “” school” already more than a year ago. The same man that cut the wood for us also stole our wood and it took him now a year to give it back to us. We just visit him all the time and reminded him about it and be his friend even he stole from us. It seems that our persistence and humbleness paid off. Thank you, Lord. The village chief allows us to make an extension on his house for a small “” school””. All we need now is a builder to put it together for us and then Heang will go there and teach the children Khmer and English, using the Bible as teaching materials. Once they know how to read and write in Khmer, they can go to regular school. Pray with us for this “” long lost”” project to finally get off the ground.

I want to share a real miracle that happened this week. One of our good friends that are pregnant started to bleed about a week ago and Toinette feared that she will lose the baby. After an ultrasound where they could not hear any heartbeat, the doctor sends the couple home for the weekend and ask them to be back in 3 days and then they can go ahead to remove the baby. Heartbroken but faithful to God, they cried out to God as this will be their 2nd time of brokenness. On Sunday they went to the doctor again and she said that she wants to wait for another week before she wants to do something. Now that is strange for a doctor to say that, but we believe that the Lord worked in her heart. After another week the couple went for an ultrasound and the baby is healthy and nothing wrong. We rejoice with this couple about this good news. Please pray with us for this couple and for the baby to grow healthy and free of any danger.
Please pray for the following people:
Ben and Hannah Wideman is leaving tomorrow for Canada. Pray for safe travels and for small Levy on a very long flight.
Annerina was hospital again with a high fever and got a blood transfusion, so she is doing better.
Please pray for another Filipino friend, Celia VM Hickey. She lost her husband recently and she needs to get to grips with this pain after not even married for 1 year.
Please pray for my friend Samai. Someone made a fire and burned 60% of his Cashew nut trees down. It is a big loss as the trees were full of cashews ready to be harvested. He uses this money to help tribal pastors to plant more churches. Recently smoke from fires is making the sky grey and you do not see the sun all the time.
This Coronavirus is raising fear everywhere it goes except in Cambodia. Here its business as usual but the PM is asking people to be careful. Only 1 case is reported here so far even with all the Chinese arriving here. We can just pray for the people that get sick to be treated well.

I just got news about our NZ visas. Hopefully, we will be informed soon as they have a big backlog of applications due to the virus. All the applications that were in Beijing are now back in NZ and they will work on it ASAP. We pray that it will come in time for us to visit NZ.
Pray that we will not get tired of doing well to others. Pray for encouragement daily as the enemy is busy this time of the year. It seems to me when the warm weather gets to Cambodia, people are not thinking straight. There is a saying:”” Do not make any major decisions in the hot months….”” This is really the time for missionaries to go home and leave behind desperate people.
We rejoice with our fellow Namibians as we get videos of water running in every river and nature that shouts out of joy for the good rains back home. You can just hear the joy in people’s voices when they praise God for the rain. O how I wish for some rain here in Cambodia, still a few months before we will get any.
May God bless you with more rain or snow in this week to come?
Love
Rossouw-clan
