Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it have to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work ,where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Toinette is at home with the boys. Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish with Hope school this year and start online classes .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 12 November 2018

We are starting to make ready for “Winter “ in Cambodia. Yip you read right, it gets cooler here over this time of the year. All the leaves are falling down and even in the jungle the trees shed their leaves and it looks like Autumn around here. The mango trees get new leaves after dropping all their old leaves. Do not be afraid, it is still blistering hot as we know this place.

Made a quick trip out to Kampong Tom and did an outreach to the people I love so much. One patient has a very high Bp and now struggles with swollen legs due to heart failure, such a young man that struggles with a serious illness like that. Please pray that he will get healed. One thing is for sure and that is, if you visit a place regularly, you do not encounter lots of illnesses anymore. The church in Kabal Domrey is still under construction but they are doing a real great job with it.

Riding back I saw a lot of children monks, walking along the road in pairs. It strikes me that we are against such a strong religion that everybody love so much and that is here already for centuries. People love sending their small kids to the Temple in order to become a monk in order to receive a blessing or to “do the right thing”. Here we are and try to teach them otherwise with a foreign religion and try to encourage them to follow Jesus. We have an indeed a huge task in front of us. The odds are totally against us, but God is working in people’s hearts, believe me. Pray with us for Cambodia. It is time that we as “workers “stand together and help each other to accomplish this task. They say there are 2% Christians here, but like a friends said, about 1% of that is in Phnom Pehn. We cannot but think that we never will make it, but that’s not how it work. We need to work as hard as we can to accomplish this goal.

Please pray with us for Anton’s school, Hope International school. Talking to a friend. he highlight the fact that it’s a Christian school in Cambodia, which need to be a Mission rather than a business. Breaking open the realm of darkness through education need to be the focus for them. Pray for the leaders in Hope. Pray that this school and other Christian schools in Cambodia will realise the impact the can have on local people through education. Pray for teachers as we are short of that as well as more students. For more info go to their webpage: http://www.hope.edu.kh/

Continue to pray for Fe.

Please pray for little Dehan de Wet (2) He got bitten by a very poisonous Zebra snake, on his eye. Currently he is in hospital in Windhoek and they are fighting for his life as he is so small. He is not doing good but we pray that they Lord will safe this little boy.
The bite of the zebra snake, Naja nigricincta nigricincta, has always been a problem in Namibia. This snake is very common in the country, and appears to be attracted to and do well in populated areas, both urban and rural. It is quick to bite, and unlike that of most cobras, its venom is highly cytotoxic. However, the polyvalent antivenom that is available, is ineffective in the treatment of a zebra snake bite. The current recommended medical treatment is radical excision around the site of the bite, of which severe disfigurement and amputation is a common outcome. If venom finds its way into the bloodstream, even more problems, including systemic ones, arise. The overall treatment can be expensive, often extending for over a year, especially if initial treatment was too conservative. http://www.travelnewsnamibia.com/stories/featured-stories/the-zebra-snake-antivenom-project/

My friend Deon Botha went to the doctor and he assure him that he is doing well. Due to the very big operation he needs to rest and get healed from within. Pray for him to rest, that can be difficult, guys like us cannot lie around and “rest”, we are used to work and be busy. Pray for Sonja as she helps him at home.

Mordegai’s mum is back in the hospital due to her heart. My sister say that its going up and down but we believe that she will be out and about, soon. Like I know my mum, she cannot sit still and lay in a bed to long.

I am leaving for Phnom Pehn again this afternoon to sort out our visas. Mordegai’s visa is denied as the government do not allow us to be volunteers anymore without a work permit. Fair, but we did not know the changes. So I will submit new papers and go from there. Pray for FGC Community Link as they also need to renew their Mission of Understanding with the government and that is a mission by itself.

Yea I know this verse is an old one, but it’s so true.
He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:2
