Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it have to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work ,where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Toinette is at home with the boys. Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish with Hope school this year and start online classes .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 27 August 2018

Just this morning I was reminded about the grace of God. I was busy fixing my bike and had to use the big angle grinder to cut something off. The blade hooked and broke and cut into my wrist. Lots of blood but luckily not to deep and after 4 stitches, I was back on track again. Accidents happen so quickly that we cannot predict when. It is so true that we will not know what the day of tomorrow hold for us. We need to be prepared today as if it’s the last day on earth.

For a while now we are trying to get a small building off the ground in a new village but God has different plans for us. Sad to say we have to put this on ice but we will continue to reach out to the people and build more relationships with them in the future. They are looking forward to us coming with medicines and they love the care they get. We can see that the Temple, about 20km away, got involved and the village brought 20 children to be monks in the temple. We cannot interfere with that as it’s their choice but it’s sad that they do not worry about schooling for their kids. In the next town my friend confirm the same scenario as he also say that people these days rather see if they have money and not looking towards education. Pray with us that we can make an impact in communities to try and teach them the importance of their children’s education.

It was such a privilege to it and watches Curtis, talking to the people about the Lord. They really love him as his gift is to tell people about our Lord, in their own language. While I am doing some medical he will always get involved in spending time with someone and ask about their wellbeing and believes. Off course we got stopped right as we entered the jungle by Jungle police. We made friends and could also share some meds with them. Pray as we encounter more and more people, asking questions about what we are doing. Just because we are foreigners do not give us the freedom to move around without permission and we strive to keep a peaceful approach and keep everyone happy. We must remind ourselves that we are representing our Lord in any circumstance and we are being watched.

Please pray for an older lady in Rum Jopon that got bitten by a snake. Her finger is not doing well and it was good to clean and left her with meds, but its better I will be there again in a week’s time to see how she is doing.

Our trip into the jungle was not without trouble. The bike broke down as the roads are terrible to say the least. As always the guys travelling on bikes stopped and helps and sure enough one of them even got a bearing to save me from walking out. God even provide in the small things. The brother hood amongst bike riders are coming to its full in situations like this. Just love it. Mud and water was a real understatement. We swam most of the time.

Please continue to pray for the following people.
Quintin will hear about his test tomorrow. Please pray for the ongoing nerve wrecking wait and patience to endure in these hard times. Pray that his faith will even become stronger in this time.

My friend Deon in SA is asking to pray for our beloved country South Africa. Pray for tolerance and peace in a very unsettling time as politics are at an all-time low right now. Pray also for him as he needs to have strength every day to finish his work with more infections in his throat

Continue to pray for Fe. We are looking forward to have them here in a few weeks.

Please pray for Randy and Crystal Odom and small Noel.
SURGERY RESCHEDULED! Please keep Noel in prayer tomorrow (Monday) as he has his ear surgery. The operation is scheduled for 9am (11pm Cambodia time) at Mission Bay Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. We’ll be up and out of the house at 5am to beat the Monday morning commute traffic on the Bay Bridge. Appreciate your prayers and thoughts for our little guy!

Listening to our friend in church last night it was so nice to hear how we need to sacrifice ourselves up for the Lord. Reading Romans 12 from the Message is just so much better to understand.  Here is just some of it, please go and read all of it.
1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
6-8 If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don’t take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.

Let us go out this week and practice Romans 12.
