Went on outreach with my good friend Samai into the
cleared jungle to a small church. As usual so many people came to get
medicines, the nearest Health clinic is far and do not offer much. It was fun
watching the pastor giving some Betadine and ointments to the people and how
they had such a good relationship already. People are very thankful for our
help and we can see that this little church is doing well. https://www.facebook.com/mordegai/videos/10215989975286563/?t=0
From there it was still a good 4x4 drive back to
Stung Treng and then I went all the way to Banlung, 2 hours away, to go and see
my Leper friend. It was already late in the afternoon when I reached Banlung
but I listened to the soft voice of the Holy Spirit, telling me to go and visit
the auntie right now. I thought that I am tired and do not want to go but the
Lord did not want to let go. I gave in and went straight ahead to the Leper
anti. Her foot is not doing well and is beyond repair. Please pray with us that
she will take her meds and clean her wound regularly.
While sitting down for not longer than 5minutes, I
hear the familiar voice of James, my good friend that works with the Leper
people. I was amazed to see him as I was just thinking about him, while
driving. We both recognise that the Lord put us on this path today to see each
other with a purpose. He took me to another uncle with Leprosy that had an
accident a while ago. His foot looks bad and infected. I could share some meds
with him and cleaned his wound. Pray for James as he tries to help these
people. We had a lovely dinner together with his family.
While still in Banlung I got contacted by my friend
from Stung Treng. One of their staff’s daughters, Sim Lymey (6 years old) was
diagnosed with Leprosy and they want to talk to me. I am no expert but my
friend James is!! He gave me some pointers and I went to see her. I am not
convinced that she has Leprosy but then I am not an expert and advise them to
go to the people in Phnom Pehn that work with Leprosy. Pray for the family as they are afraid to go
to the big city alone and go for another check-up. We are working on a plan how
to go around it. Please pray for Emily as she is trying to convince them to go
as it’s important for them to know if she has Leprosy or not.
Continue to pray for the following
people:
Quinton Calitz , Manus Olivier, and Fe. Pray that
the lord will provide all their needs.
We have a very special holiday right
now.
This three day holiday was established to celebrate
the birthday of HM King Norodom Sihamoni. This national holiday is celebrated
from 13 May to 15 May each year.
The dates may vary if one or more of the three days
fall on a weekend.
The holiday was established to celebrate the Royal
Birthday of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Baromneath Norodom Sihamoni,
the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia
History of Cambodian King's Birthday
HM King Norodom Sihamoni is the son of His Majesty
Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk, Preahmahaviraksat. He was born on 14
May 1953 in Phnom Penh Capital.
His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni has been the
sovereign of Cambodia since 29 October 2004.
He was made king after being chosen by a nine-member
throne council to become the next king after his father Norodom Sihanouk
abdicated in 2004 due to ill health.
Even though King Norodom Sihamoni's father was King,
the King of Cambodia is an elected monarch, making Cambodia one of the few
elected monarchies of the world.
The King is elected for life and is chosen by the
Royal Council of the Throne. The only stipulations are that the candidates must
be part of the royal family and at least 30 years old.
Did you know?
King Norodom Sihamoni is the only ruling monarch who
speaks Czech
How is Cambodian King's Birthday Celebrated?
To mark the holiday, the King makes offerings to
monks and those less fortunate in society. Many government buildings are
covered in lights and pictures of the King, while people will fly the flag of
Cambodia from their houses. Celebrations
take place inside the Royal Palace with a fireworks display on the nearby Tonlé
Sap River.
Thank you for always keep us in prayer. I will be on
the road again on Thursday out to the jungle. Pray for safety on the roads.
Love
Rossouw-clan
