Such a long time since we wrote anything about what we are
doing. Since the accident, I am at home and not doing any outreaches but that
is not to say that nothing is happening, around us.
I must say we went through a really ruff time in our lives.
Being so close to death and dealing that with the whole family, took its toll
on all of us. We are coping so much better right now, as I can start to move
around again. Life seems to come to “”normal”” again. This experience just
shows us how vulnerable we are as humans. One moment we are on top of the world
and the next you stare death, straight in the eyes. All I can say is that God
came through, strongest, when we are weak……
Spending so much time in my bed is not exactly, what I
planned for this year. So much to do and so little time. Wow, came to a dead
stop, right there n the dust road in the jungle. My life turned suddenly in a
total different direction in a couple of seconds, and what can I do about it,
nothing……
Once again we made plans but God has directed our paths in
the way we should go. Toinette got more involved in FGC Community Link and is
part of the team that is teaching English and some Health Teachings to the
children and adults in the village. She really enjoy it a lot and I am glad
that she can be busy with that even if
it makes her having less time for herself. She is a great teacher and loves to
be with the local Khmers.
We had the Eli Int. School Camp here at our house. Almost
all Filipinos, they came and had so much fun with us. Once again, I was just
amazed how well these guys can work together and accomplish so much in a short
time. There were enough activities for the kids not to get bored and in the
night we had a bon-fire as well.
Great to see Anton enjoying himself with friends and how
they worked together as a team. Good to see God’s hand in all of these
children.
We have holiday now as it is Khmer New Year. Grahame and
Katy decided to come and visit us here for the week and after that we have
another friend that will visit. This month we had uncle Derek over from Australia and even had a guy from Cape Town living with us.
Busy times for us at home even more so for Toinette that need to spark and see
that all of us eats. She is really a good wife.
In the meantime, Suzaan got graduated from Law school and is
busy with her Masters right now. She also was part of a team from Potch to
present her university at the Worldmun 2014 in Brussels . Great time also to walk around a
bit in Europe before going home.
Please pray with us about changing our dates to go home. Not
so sure my leg will be good enough in one month’s time, therefore we think its
best to postpone our flight with a month.
Thank you very much for being with us in spirit and prayer.
