Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton will finish this year with Grade 12. .Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 13 March 2023

Listening to a good friend talking about what it will cost us to follow Jesus. The Bible says that we need to calculate the cost it will cost us to follow the Lord. Wow, it hit me between the eyes this morning. Did we calculate the cost when we became missionaries or when we started following Jesus?? After all these years and all the things that happened in our lives, we are still counting the cost. Seems that we need to look over the books all the time. Did we just blindly follow the Lord?? He says that we need to follow Him, come whatever. Now, why do we question Him when disaster strike?? O my all these questions after listening to Eddie. The cost of following Jesus is definitely high cost and it’s expensive. But the Lord always helps when we need Him. Our Lord never forsakes or forgets us in times of disaster and heartache. He is slowly leading us through the darkest valley, but He is with us.

Thanks for praying for Ouma Paula. She is doing better. Toinette is still with Ouma in Swakopmund and together they enjoy each other’s company. Anton is working hard and finished an important test today but still needs more grace for this week ahead. I enjoy my work with wood these days as I make a lot of cars that need to go to children in the province. Soon it will be time again to go to the jungle and I am busy getting the small cars ready for that.

Please pray for Cambodia. This event is next door to our friends Abraham Warren and his family.

Today, 50m from our home the start of a three-day funeral ceremony mixed with deep animism, and Buddhists, where the chanters beseeching and provoking the spirits, and ghosts to come. This is a funeral of 3 elderly people who died about 2-3 years ago. Tomorrow there will be a live burning of the remains. People attending, eating, celebrating and attending special ceremonial water sprinkled on them.

From today 04h00 in the morning until Saturday night of nonstop chanting and calling the spirits to come. Bondage is heavy here and our children find schooling a huge challenge during this time.

I don't say this lightly but if you can sleep peacefully in your neighborhood at night thank God the Gospel came to your country 400-500 years ago.  From a person's birth to their death, in an un-evangelized country, it is saturated with witchcraft, evil spirits, and a lack of common sense.

Yesterday evening was the 2nd day of the live burning of the remains. People flock to these ceremonies, and thousands of dollars are spent by families. It is a religion of fear and superstition.

We haven't heard any bird singing the last 3 mornings. Birds are more resistant to temporary and permanent hearing loss or damage than people or other animals when it comes to loud noise.  Indeed when the gospel comes even the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Agriculture, the land yes even the trees, birds, and fields rejoice when missionaries go and make disciples of all nations.

Thank you for praying for Cambodia

Love
