Good day all our friends and family
Sorry for the normal mail these days, need to get out there and fix my computer and get Word working again. Sorry, yes I am old school, need to use Mail Chimp or internet-based programs but this old brain is not capable in learning stuff like that. So I am stuck in my ways and it works so why change???
I woke up Monday with a severe body and joint pains, so bad that I could not even walk. By this time in my life, I am so used to that, but this was different. Got me together and could fix a bike but during the morning things started to look grim. I started to get a fever down my spine and the joining pain becomes even worse. Test for malaria but it was negative, so the next test is for Dengue and then this new Chikungunya virus. There is no test available yet so they test for Dengue and if not then it's Chi.
So by now, I had all the symptoms with bad fevers and severe joint pains. It is almost the same as Dengue but the joint pains are worse and luckily there is not hemorrhagic fever. So for 3 days, I had bad fevers and now I am only struggling with bad circulation on my lower legs. Because of all the accidents, I had before, my blood circulation is not that good in my lower legs. Please pray that this will go over soon. You know I am sick if I do not crave for coffee!!
I hear from fellow missionaries that also have it as well as a lot of local people all around us. It is rainy season and mozzies will be there. I have a fogger but could only use it once before I got bitten. Will start a campaign in killing mozzies at people's houses. Seems like something nice to do. Praise God the rest of my family is doing just fine.
Heang and I started a small chicken business. It is the beginning of all things and we will see how things go. I love helping my friend who is a great farmer to do small business. We will not get rich but it will teach us valuable lessons for the future. Hopefully, I can go out there again next week, and then I can report on it. I am the worse businessman on this planet that is why I have Heang to help me. I will just give away the chickens for free.
It is the belated Khmer New celebrations now. I think it's about time that there will be some celebrations going on in this place. They canceled it earlier in the year in April and now finally they can have their New Year.
Thank you very much for praying for us. We keep you guys in prayer especially down in Namibia where they locked it down again. Pray that God will be merciful to you and help you guys to stand firm in your faith.
Love

""In a follow-up on the chikungunya outbreak in Cambodia, the Ministry of Health is now reporting 1,020 cases across 12 provinces.“More than 80 percent of the cases had been detected in four provinces, namely Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, and Kampong Cham,” the Health Ministry’s secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said. “Usually, CHIKV is not fatal and most of the patients will recover within a week…but patients can die if they simultaneously have other diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and meningitis,” she said.
Health Minister Mam Bun Heng said: “The measure to prevent the spread of Chikungunya is similar to dengue prevention. So, you have to avoid getting bitten by a female mosquito carrying the Chikungunya virus by removing all mosquito-breeding containers.”Chikungunya is a viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes. It causes fever and severe joint pain, which is often debilitating. Other symptoms include muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue, and rash. The disease shares some clinical signs with dengue and Zika and can be misdiagnosed in areas where they are common. As there is no cure, treatment is focused on relieving the symptoms. http://outbreaknewstoday.com/chikungunya-outbreak-in-cambodia-tops-1000/ ""
