Medical to the remote

This Blog is all about the work of God. Nothing we do is without the knowledge of our Father. He is the soul provider for everything we do.
We are Mordegai, Toinette, Suzaan, Gideon, and Anton Rossouw from Namibia-Africa. . This Blog is all about our lives here in Cambodia while Suzaan works in South Africa. We are real Farmers from Africa and we love life and what it has to offer and enjoy it day by day.

Mordegai travels to remote villages, doing much needed medical work , where no other doctors go, with local pastors.

Gideon is no longer with us but Anton is studying in Malaysia. Toinette joins FGC Community Link Cambodia to the villages close by, teaching local children in an after school setting and also women about Health Issues in a village setting.

We consider us Asians as we live such a long time in Asia, eating rice as a staple food and not meat......

Our motto in life comes from a dear friend:

With common sense and God we
can accomplish a lot

Monday night prayers 20 July 2020

Wow, another week for the record books. Just as you think you experienced quite a bit already, you stumble into another experience that absolutely wrenches your heart to the core. For a few days we were on the edge as our dearest friend, Indin was in the hospital with her premature baby, at 27 weeks. We prayed and asked God to intervene but He had different plans. Toinette was Junmar and Indin in the hospital. During the waiting and praying one of the nurses asked us whether we are Christians. She then said “I become a Christian because you Christians know how to love “.  I was thinking of the verse where it says ‘In our love for one another the world will know we are His disciples!!! Our Leader Angela and her home church FGC in Malaysia have been a true example to us on care and love for each other, especially in this difficult time.  A beautiful baby girl, Inz’l Jewel Delicano was born premature and they had to rush her to another hospital in order to try and save her life. Sadly it was not to be.

My heart broke, seeing my dear friend with the small baby in his arms when I picked him up in front of the hospital. We cried out to God, but we know that our God will never forsake us and never leave us. If there is one thing I can say about these children, Junmar and Indin, I must comment on their solid faith and trust in the Lord. They are a true example to us in difficult times like this.

Now what to do about burial? Practice in Cambodia is to cremate but it takes place in the local Wat or Buddhist Temple. A local pastor we know arranged everything for cremation on a piece of land he bought for Christians to be buried on. A few of us accompanied Junmar for the cremation. It was beautiful as the church members sang some songs and the pastor gave a small message, just there in the field. They build a big fire then and placed the box on the fire and waited for it to burn. This was not the best procedure but they do not have any cremation places in Siem Reap. Please pray for Junmar and Indin as this is the 2nd baby they lost in a short time. Pray that their faith will even become stronger in our Lord and that their broken hearts will heal. If I see how this affected Toinette, I cannot imagine what it has to be for them.

We will be off to Stung Treng and Ratanakiri this Thursday with our friends Petra and her family. This is just pure family time and I hope to see some local friends on the way there. Please pray for our safe travels and pray for our vehicles to not break on the way. This is the last week of the school holiday and we want to spend a few days just being with our boys.

Please pray for more rain here in Cambodia. Not nearly enough rain fell as the farmers planted rice and cassava and they need lots of rain. We are very thankful that there are not too many cases of Covid-19 here and the government contains it very well. We praise God for His protection.

We pray for you guys in South Africa, parts of Namibia, and our friends all over the world that are still in lockdown. Please pray for my cousin, Liezl in SA who also has Covid-19. Pray that she will recover completely. We pray for discernment, wisdom, and that people will start to look towards God for their answers. Evil is busy to rise dramatically and we need to be on our guard. We pray that God will give you extra-strength for this week. And remember: Love one another!

Love
