Safety on these roads got a brand new meaning for me
after this week. While coming back from the North, about 50km from home, a calf
decided that I was not needed on the road and bump me of my bike. Needles to
say that the calf was under a tree for a while, as I was trying to get grip of
myself. My helmet was broken in 2, chest protection was scratched pretty badly
and my boots almost destroyed, plus one rib broken and my right side look like
a big mess. I thank God for all the protection I was wearing otherwise I was in
hospital. Had to get on my bike again and get home was no joke. Well, I am home and recovery is slowly. Such pain,
I never had before…….
Joined Samai again on a outreach to a small village
where AOC is helping people with safe water and sanitation as well as on Agriculture
projects. Our venue was in a Temple, where all meetings are done. Under the
eyes of Buddha we did our medical outreach. No Christians here, but people know
that AOC is a Christian NGO and what we are doing is for the KING. Give us a
wonderful opportunity to visit with people and win their hearts by loving them.
Quite a big turnout and we could help a lot of mums with babies and adults
alike. Not so sure what is the deal with, hanging a tooth, animal or human,
around your child’s neck. Some sort of protection, but will find out. Had a lot
of children with that around their necks. The people were very hospitable and
made food for us after the monks had their fill. We could even help the monks
with some needed meds.

Katy, Grahame’s wife, joined us the next day on
another outreach to a neighbor village. Samai know some Christians there and
according to him it is an easier place to work. We were in a house this time
and a big turnout. Katy was very handy with all the new babies and was a real
mum to the young girls. So great to have her there as I always have to do that.
Showing God’s love to the girls by letting them know that they are doing a
great job in looking after their babies. The boys were preparing some itch-meds
plus some eye-drops, which went like candies. I was just cleaning some really
dirty ears and gave meds to the children which were sick. Wish I could share
the stuff; I took out of ears with all of you!!!! http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201029121074558.1073741840.1363444678&type=1&l=0e28900488
We as a family are enjoying our stay here in Siem
Riep. We have the lovely countryside, just outside our gate. Go on bicycle
rides to the nearby lake is great fun. Good for us to spend time together even
on our bicycles. We are farming with fish and started a veggie garden, the
chickens were a disaster but hey, farming is not easy going. School is good to
the boys. Gideon is now off to school, 3 times a week from 12-2.30pm. He is
enjoying himself in the small school environment and under the watchful eyes of
his brother, Anton. Toinette started to teach the mums in the villages where
FGC Community Link is involved. She really loves to talk to the ladies and
build relationships with them. Pray that God’s love would be shown through
this. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201002955220428.1073741838.1363444678&type=1&l=2466f8571a
The truth is, he is the only thing that is
constant, the only thing that will never change, and no matter what we’re
walking through we can rest assured that He will not forsake us....Not for a
Moment. “...for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave
you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
